A-10 Thunderbolt (1/48 Revell)
fids replied to Luke Piewalker's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Nice job, like it I finished one recently but played around with it, its only for fun afterall -
I'm a biased rotor head but do think a Puma and Gazelle would fill a huge hole in the market I also think the Hampden is a much maligned and forgotten aircraft, it won the un-sexy Battle of Britain bombing the invasion barges.

Just read a book about the Bruneval raid in 1942 and was introduced to Mr Cotton and his photo recce exploits for the first time, great story. Well, I normally make modern aircraft and helicopters but I think I should bite the bullet and make (hopefully) one his first Spitfire's (my first since 19..) preferably in 1:48 I'm pretty sure they were Mk1's, anybody have any info to help me start, decals and colour scheme's mainly. cheer's

if its not going to be grey I assume it'll be 3 colours I'm about to start a F16 in a similar style but only have access to humbrol where I live so any clues as to the closest match's would be very much appreciated.

I love a F4E and this a cracking example. I must get my hands on a couple, this version and the Kurnass.

1. Airbridge from Baghdad International to the green zone in a Puma. Never flown nap of the Earth through a city before 2. From Clogher to Aldergrove at the end of my first tour in Ulster in 88. Beautiful January morning, crystal clear sky and very frosty, once we'd achieved altitude he dropped the back ramp, the scene was stunning. Didn't have my camera on me though 3. Cadged a jolly in a Gazelle in Belize, it was an orientation flight for one of the pilots who'd just arrived, we went everywhere, including vertically down the 1000 foot falls Baghdad wins every time

I got one of these too but its behind an A10 and an Isreali F16 so the clocks might have gone back by the time I start it :-)

I really must get one but I'd hate not to be able to produce one like this. I must grow a pair :-) Great job -

1:48 Puma 1:48 Gazelle Re-release 1:48 Jaguar and Buccaneer The 1:48 Lynx's were IMO exemplary kits, truly brilliant. Time to give that treatment to a Phantom (or 2)
