Great subject, loving that. As for colour schemes and FAA go for gold, if your going to bust a gut with the plastic don't scrimp on paint. My favorite FAA scheme, just saying :-) Behind you all the way mate.

Any helicopter build is a good build IMO so really looking forward to this. Is it going to be Yellow?

My first go at weathering, I painted the to of the canopy yellow, as it would have been originally, covered in maskol and then painted on the sand, I brushed on some weathering powder on top of it all. I've masked some other bits on the main fuselage too, just hope it works out

What if this stuff doesn't stop leaking on me chief? What happens is he disappears, comes back with a drum of oil and stirrup pump which you then pump for the next 2 hours with an ever growing circle of ex friends around you Great idea btw, I always liked that brown scheme, before my time of course :-) -
Progress today, got a start on the weapons and 'hand painted' on the black, I'm happy with the result, I dipped an old brush in varnish and splayed the hairs out, waited for it to go off and got on with it.

Yep 6th Armored but it was renamed during the trail, obviously the trials were done in Germany because there was far more real estate to play in.

Hoping to get the Wessex done and dusted soon, I'm off next week so should be able to get on with it so I might do a second. I was a Gunner in an Air Defence Battery during the 6 Airmobile Brigade in the mid 80's. For 2 or 3 years all I did was drive, fly and dig, great times :-) Chinook, Puma, Sea King, CH53 (German) and Lynx were the modes of transport. Nothing American though. A seed is planted :-)

It used to get me someone would get posted into a Para Pid and get para pay from day 1 with 2 years to re-qualify, most knew they'd be moving on in 2 years so never had any intention of jumping and never did. Stupid system, it was one of them black holes tax payers money used to drop into and then everyone moans when the budget is tight.
-
No idea, I've been out of 5 years. Loads of allowances go canned when the budget cuts hit though

or them silly sods from Aldershot/Colchester as we called them I Spent an interesting 2 years with 23 Engineers when they formed in 2003, being introduced to 9 Squadron was an education. Telling some 1 Para guys at St Athan No they can't have SF pay because they are not SF was fun too, it sank in eventually :-)
