  1. Excellent selection, but the Hasegawa 1/72 F-4 EJ Kai Phantom II does it for me!
  2. What a diverse collection of excellent builds. My favourite is the 1/48 Tucano.
  3. Beautiful models. The Seafire 1B gets my vote.
  4. What a great selection! My favourite is the Zvezda 1/35 T34/85. .
  5. Wow, what a production line! The 2010 Hawk is my favourite - did the decals settle ok?
  6. Excellent work! My favourite is the SBD-3 (Early) - Accurate Minatures.
  7. Looks good to me! I enjoyed building mine as a weekend build finishing it in Halfords Nissan Silver, as I am not very successful at brush-painting silver!
  8. Beautiful. I hope my Airfix FA2 turns out as well as yours. I wish Airfix would not over-engrave the panel lines - on the real thing, you can barely see any panel lines. Great photographs too.
  9. What a variety of fantastic models. I love the Moths and the Tutor, but my favourite has to be the I.D. Models 1:48 C-133A Cargomaster & Thor Missile - where on earth do you display it?!
  10. Excellent work, but my favourite has to be the AFV Club F-5E Tiger II.
  11. Hi Mish All are excellent, but I love the 1:48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk1A climbing out.
  12. Hi I applied the minimal decals during the X Factor followed by a coat of Klear then a Raw Umber oil wash to lift some detail and dirty it up a bit, allthough the pictures don't seem to show the effect very well. I managed to break off one of the main gear legs and bend the pitot probe whilst adding the nose gear door and the weapons pylons! I will weather the pylons in the same way, plus the large tank that will attach to the centreline pylon. I still need to add the fiddly bits and permanently fix the jet pipes and the canopy. I plan to take a break from it to decide whether I am brave enough to add some chipping to the Temporary Finish.
  13. Hi The first coat of Xtracolor X32 "RAF Desert Pink Gulf War Tornado, Jaguar" is now dry. I am about to apply the second coat. I hope to apply the fiddly bits and decals this afternoon (or at least when the "X Factor" is on!), after a slow cook in the airing cupboard.
  14. Thanks Guys I got the first Xtracolour Desert Pink coat on this afternoon, but as it is so glossy, I will need to dry it in the airing cupboard overnight before applying the second coat (just don't tell my wife!)
  15. Hi I decided to build this one after mulling over all my Big Cat pictures prior to the closure of RAF Coltishall and then the withdrawal from service with 6 Squadron at RAF Coningsby. I bought all the special retirement decals at the time, but have decided to build this one as Revell intended. It goes together quickly and easily with minimum putty required. I still need to attach the guns, undercarriage doors, jet pipes and various tiny antenna. I have chickened out of drilling a hole for the laser range finder window and will instead paint it silver! I hope to get the first brush painted coat of Xtracolour RAF Gulf War pink on today. I know that these machines became very grubby and tatty very quickly, but I plan to finish mine in a relatively clean and tidy state, without peeling Alkaline Removable Temporary Finish (mainly because I don't have the skills to achieve it!)
  16. That's fantastic. You've spurred me on to get one of mine out to complete my BBMF line-up.
  17. Thanks Slufdriver! I never thought that my very basic skills would motivate anyone, but I am chuffed nonetheless! The Airfix kit goes together well, but the raised detail dates it a bit. I'm sure that the Hasegawa kit will give you better results. What colour will you use? If I were to build it again, I would prime it in Halfords White Plastic Primer and then mask the wing tips so that the blue doesn't "bleed" through on the pin stripe decals that sit next to the white wing tips. Good luck!
  18. Hi F-32, Glad you like it - I don't imagine that Hornby sell that many Humbrol Emerald tinlets!
  19. Thanks, Shelfspace. I really appreciate your comments. I nearly didn't post the pictures, as I didn't think my efforts compared with some of the amazing work on this forum.
  20. Thanks Houston. I think that I need to tone the gloss down with a coat of satin, but it doesn't look as glossy on the shelf. As mentioned above, the colour may or may not be accurate, but it still looks pretty to my eye!
