  1. Hi Houston. I don't really have much more information, except that it was a passenger flight and that thankfully, there were no injuries. I have flown in Classic Wings Rapides a few time and I'm sure that your nephew will have a lovely time.
  2. Wow! I wish I had seen that! I remember the German Navy Starfighters startling everyone at Greenham one year with a surprise (very) fast low pass! I'm just going through my shots from yesterday, so will post some this evening! I hope they don't disappoint!
  3. Pleased to here it, Mike! I'm reasonably good on aircraft recognition, but the H175M defeated me! Not a particularly nice looking helicopter! My absolute favourite was the the CH-53G!
  4. Thanks for the kind words, Parabat. If you love the Hind, you would have been in your element today - there were Czech and Hungarian examples in the flying display and the Hungarian one was being flown in an extremely dynamic manner! I've just got home, so will post some pictures tomorrow. Thanks very much, F-32. You're in for a traet - take plenty of water on Sunday! Thanks very much, Stephen. I'm pleased you enjoyed them. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the second batch as much as the first! I will post pictures from today on Saturday. (SPOILER ALERT: My favourite moment was seeing the USAF E-4B land after the flying display had finished.) Hi Mike. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed them and didn't feel bombarded by the quantity! Sorry about the broken links, but I can see all the images on my Windows PC and two Android devices. Can you let me know the file numbers and I will take a look. There was some excellent helicopter action today, which I really enjoyed. (Pictures to come tomorrow!)
  5. Hello all. As threatened, here is a batch of images from Thursday, the second RIAT arrivals day. Some great arrivals and some excellent rehearsals - well worth £17! The WSO is raising his hat! Sorry for the number of images, but it was a busy day! I hope they have given you a flavour!
  6. The Italians are so supportive of RIAT and seem to send more aircraft than our own armed forces! Sorry to hear about your hand, Paul. I hope it improves.
  7. Thanks very much. Yes, the haze has been a challenge! The Reds did two flypasts with the Black Eagles.
  8. Thanks for the kind words, Troffa. It is shaping up to be a great show. Sorry you couldn't make it.
  9. Thanks Steve. Today is even better, with full displays from a Gripen, the Black Eagles and the Frecce Tricolori as well as lots of exciting arrivals! Have a great weekend. Thanks very much, Speedy. Two Greek F-16s landed here a while ago, so it was probably them, comparing historical artifacts!!
  10. Thanks Colin. It is forecast to be cooler today at 23°, but rising again to 28° on Sunday.
  11. Hi Colin. You're too kind - thank you! I'm pleased to have brought back happy memories of air shows past. The number of air shows in the UK has diminished markedly in recent years, but I still appreciate the variety of events compared to other countries. I'm at Fairford again today and actually managed a spot on the fence, so I'm hoping for some slightly different shots from what looks to be a very busy day for arrivals and rehearsals.
  12. Thanks Parabat! Today's list looks even better! That's a shame, Paul. I'll post some more this evening for your viewing pleasure! Thanks Trevor. I guess so. I wondered if it was a ram air turbine?
  13. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the pictures, Pigpen. I hope that you have a fantastic weekend. Hi Chris. It sure was warm! I was hoping to see the Hind and Hip, but decided to leave during a quit soell at 1700. I'm pleased you enjoyed the pictures. I'm looking forward to today!
  14. Thanks very much. I'm pleased that you enjoyed them. I was so excited to see a Tornado again. The second one did three passes at 500 feet, 300 feet and 100 feet with burners and I just had to watch (and listen) rather than photograph! I agree, it is very small compared to some of its contemporaries, but I like it! I realised that there were NO F-16s today!
  15. Hi all This was my first time at Fairford for arrivals. I normally do the FRIAT Mach 2, which is Friday to Monday, but I have to say that I would definitely do it again! No traffic chaos and a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere! Here are some of my favourite images and I apologise if they are not 100% sharp, but my eyes are stinging from the sun cream that oozed into them!!! Thanks for looking. More to come tomorrow!
  16. Hi Mark. I'm pleased that you enjoyed the selection of images (I took over 600!) As we've said before, it is quite difficult to produce different and imaginative aviation images, so I decided to concentrate on the people as far as possible. The team was very obliging and I can't wait to see them again at RIAT. Thanks very much Latinbear. I'm pleased that you enjoyed them. Thanks Parabat. I aimed to tell a story with the pictures, so I'm delighted that you think I've achieved that.
  17. Here are some more images from Boscombe Down last Friday when I had the great privilege of photographing the Black Eagles as they departed for Southport, returning around 75 minutes later. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoyed my record of a fabulous morning at Boscombe Down.
  18. Thanks very much, Latinbear. A very enjoyable morning and the ROKAF guys and girls were so friendly! Thanks for the kind words, Parabat. I'm pleased that you enjoyed them!
  19. Lovely set! We must have been very close to each other for the crewing up shots!
  20. Thank you very much, 825. That is some complement! I'm so pleased that you enjoyed them.
  21. Hi. I joined the Centre of Aviation Photography event at Boscombe Down on Friday - and it was ACE! The Black Eagles were fantastic hosts! I hope you enjoy the images because I was trying to spotlight the people. Thanks for looking and I'm happy to post the arrival and shut down shots if anyone is interested.
  22. Thanks very much! I'm pleased you enjoyed them! I agree that the Wessex is stunning! I'm so grateful to Historic Helicopters for their commitment to keeping these wonderful machines flying.
  23. Thanks Latinbear, I really enjoyed all the helicopters, but the Gazelle display was exceptional! Hi James. Thanks for the kind words and I'm pleased that you enjoyed the images. I was particularly pleased to see (and hear!) the Seafire again as I had the opportunity to do an air to air shoot with her when she was based at North Weald.
  24. Hi Mark. I hope you're well? I'm delighted that enjoyed the pictures and compositions - it can be difficult to come up with anything imaginative! I was delighted to see all the helicopters (although, I'm a fast jet man at heart!) Despite recent changes, Old Warden remains my favourite air show venue. Yes, I'm getting ready for RIAT! Although this year, I've decided to go Wednesday to Friday only. Will you be there?
