  1. What a beast. Looks great in green and I love the wooden steering wheel and shift knob!
  2. Lovely shot of the big cat! As an aside, I have just read a fascinating article in the August issue of "Aviation News" about how Iran has been able to keep the Tomcat flying.
  3. Surely this hobby should be fun and it looks like you had plenty of that! Great result!
  4. Love it! As Filler says, it looks great in camo!
  5. Thanks Steve! It's never too late! I've been enjoying yours as well!
  6. Thanks for the kind words, 112. I'm pleased that you enjoyed them!
  7. Very nice! I do rather like the "Shamu" scheme. Thanks for sharing and keep 'em coming!
  8. Awesome build! She must be a heavy girl for the gear to sag like that!
  9. Epic build! You really do need to share more of your builds with us!
  10. Awesome selection, Andy. Great to see "Doc" because I booked a flight on her in 2018 from Midland, Texas but couldn't make it due to Hurricane Florence! One day I will fly on her (and visit Oshkosh!) Thanks for sharing. PS, I love the two Hawkeyes!
  11. I'm no Tomcat aficionado, but that looks fabulous!
  12. I would be pleased with that as well! Great work!
  13. Everyone loves a Phantom! I can't get used to the ciivie registration! Thanks for posting.
  14. Thanks for the kind words, Latinbear. Sorry to hear that you succumbed. I avoided it until June this year. Get well soon. PS. There is a C-17 night shoot planned for this November and another daytime photo call next year.
  15. Hi Mark. Jamie, our 99 Squadron host was very hospitable and I had a great few hours. I'm pleased you liked the pictures - the forecast was 22°, but when I left, the car was showing 28° and rising. keep an eye open for a Threshold C-17 night shoot in November. Thank you very much, Pauly! It was amazing to be so close to the C-17 (and the other aircraft on the pan!)
  16. Thanks Parabat. They certainly are impressive beasts! Unfortunately, we were not permitted inside.
  17. Thanks to Threshold Aero for working with the Royal Air Forces Association and 99 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton for arranging access to one C-17 Globemaster III (ZZ175) today. ZZ176 was also on the pan and available to photograph (from a distance). Whilst we were on the pan, three Atlas C.1s taxied out and took off, but due to a busy flight line and lots of ground equipment, it was difficult to get decent images. Here is my record of the day, with other resident aircraft to follow in the second instalment. Thanks for looking. I will try to post the second batch of other Brize residents tomorrow.
  18. Thanks Parabat. That is what I was trying to portray in my photo-essay. I think that day will go down as one of my favourite aviation days of recent years!
  19. Hello again After calming down from the aviation overload that is RIAT, I decided to revisit my Black Eagles images from an epic morning at Boscombe Down in early July. Continuing my "people" theme, I wanted to emphasise the teamwork that makes the dream work! I saw the team display at Waddington and RIAT in 2012 and my view has not changed - they are the best military aerobatic demonstration team that I have seen! Thank you from me to the men and women of the 53rd Air Demonstration Group, the Black Eagles! 감사합니다 (gam sa ham nida) The team photographer was in the back seat of Number 5 The team was applauded by the gathered photographers, which they answered! From the Thursday practice at Fairford, a representation of the Taeguk from the national flag which symbolises the balance of the universe, a concept that is based on the traditional um-yang philosophy of the region. So refreshing after all the hearts drawn in the sky!!
  20. Stunning builds from someone who obviously has an intimate knowledge and love of the type!
