  1. Did you give up on this Jens? Its looking very nice and I was looking for just such a build as I have this very kit in the stash so I'm after all the tips I can find. Ian M
  2. I seem to recall having read that they have a plan to work through the Spitfires retooling them one or two a year, So I see a "new" Spitfire on the way. Trying the guess what they will do is, with out insider knowledge next to impossible. Rumour would have us believe their playing with another 1/24, to keep the Mossy company... With their current record. what ever they say will be coming next year will first turn up in 2014 any way... :-) I just hope the curve ball is a 1/48 Gannet!!! Ian M
  3. Yes my bank account is going to get shafted!!! If you still have your ears open, A Couple of Gannets would probably sell quite well. I wont pay £90+ for an evil bay one but would for two new ones!! Anything cold war and British would also end up in my study!! Ian M
  4. I have built the Airfix Kit with the twin stage and it builds rather well. A good kit despite being an old girl. Ian M
  5. Surprised that not one person has come with this one so I will- Dear Mr. Airfix, could you please consider up scaling your RAF ground Vehicle sets, to 1/48 scale. All of them and give us some more while you are at it. Aircraft wise, I hold to 1/48 scale and could be tempted by the likes of Some nice new tooled Hurricanes, both Mk I and II. Other than that any post WWII British Aircraft. Ian M
  6. But the ones that they did where rather good. Ian M

    I need a tow!

Could the Airfix/Italeri 15cwt fit the bill, what if it was stretched to a 30cwt... Ian M

    I need a tow!

Could some kind person tell me a suitable 1/35 kit for pulling a 25/17 Pheasant around in the Western Desert / Sicily-Italy. I dont want to shell out on an expensive resin kit, so we are talking plastic here, but if the only option is resin I might just have to dig a bit deeper. If you happen to have or know of photos of a Pheasant in the desert colours, being towed, please share...or PM me if you would rather. Failing that, if some one in the know can tell me which units where opperating in that part of the war with the Pheasant, it might help me dig up the info I need. Ian M
  9. A great idea and a great result. Sorry to pee on your parade though. The idea of paint in pens is not a new idea. I still have some Tamiya paint pens. The idea of filling your own is none the less brilliant. I will be getting me some of them!! Ian M
  10. Thanks Andy, I will look into those from Perfect scale. Tamiya is not an option as the ones in the kit are, err, not nice at all. A pile of actually. Ian M
  11. Is there some one here that knows of some good after-market tracks for Tamiya's 1/35 scale Gepard. I know its built on a Leopard 1, so I guess that tracks for that would fit the bill as well. They are also proving hard to find. How about those for a Leopard 2 are they the same??? Not really into Armour that much and those I do are normally British WWII jobbies. Hope some one can help- Ian M
  12. Nice build! I have just ordered one myself, I read that the ford Quad a la Tamiya's was a pretty standard tow for these.... I couldn't get the figures as they seem to be "sold out" every where i have looked. Could I ask what colour you went for? Also any one know if they would of have been painted sand camo in Africa. I can only find pictures of green ones!!! Ian M
  13. Thanks for that, I have added a "notify me" on their web site- but then again I'm still waiting for a notification that the Lynx has been released... lol. I will keep an eye open for it. Ian M
  14. Thanks for sharing. If it makes you feel just a tiny bit better I was 22 when it kicked off. I remember it well. Ian M
  15. I have been seeing this on the Airfix Web site for a good couple of years and had given up on it. If they have now done a new Box art for it, does this mean the re-release is imminent? I do hope so. Ian M
  16. Thanks Jens. By looking at the kits destructions and your photos, I have concluded that the instrument panel for the kit version B look the most like the one in the photos. Now I can get on with the floor at least. Ian M
  17. In the same image that this is from I can see that the floor has had a deck of ply wood laid down and the Winchmans seat appears to be on some kind of rail. Question time: Was the wood deck common to Danish Lynx or was this a S-134 thing. If indeed it is a rail for the seat to run on, I assume this was to enable the seat to be move from one side to the other. In the kit there are two floor pans and I am confused as it looks to me that to get the correct floor pan for S-134, I need the front of one and the back of the other. Any advice on that from our resident lynx experts? Also a big heads up on the paint call outs in the instructions. If you are doing 'en dansker' the interior green should be a light grey and the three seats dont have blue harnesses...Well the reference photos don't. That rear bench, the red one on the fuel tank and the broom cupboard next to it, any one have some better views of that? Ian M
  18. Would it be an idiotic question to ask why not a navy Eurofighter. I recall seeing that some place was playing with a carrier Eurofighter.. Ian M
  19. When I saw it on the Italeri web site they said that it was a 100% new tooled kit...I to am hoping that this turns up as I would like a couple of them as well. The airfix one is, as others have said, Pretty good. Just not to many about at the moment. Excepting E-bay second mortgage priced ones... Ian M
  20. It seams to have vanished from their web site.....Hmm hope they haven't changed their minds. Ian M
  21. Thanks for the link to those photos Jens. Mine to will be en Dansker! Any clue as to the nearest match to the Blue paint for the Danish version. Ian M
  22. Is it just me or does this link now go to a page with Vinyl amnime models..... :-( Ian M
  23. Could I buy one please. Mail me. IanM
  24. I have been surfing the interweb for info about a 1/48 scale Gloster Gauntlet Mk II. Pref, injection but if its a resin kit, I could live with that....I think. Ian M
