  1. Absolutely. I have built three so far, have more in the stash and would buy even more if I find them. So thats a yes , buy one. Mini art or Bronco. same plastic different box.
  2. LOL That is the only picture I could find as well, but not exactly overrun with trucks is it. Would the Royal Navy also have used the CMP trucks, Those I can find. Like the idea of a tilly. Ian M
  3. I am sitting here with a Vosper MTB and a dock to park it at. The thing is I cant really find any good photo reference for the types of trucks and lorries you would expect to see at a dock or harbour that match the period. Can any one come up with a few ideas that have been kitted in 1/35 and in plastic. I know there are a few great resin kits, but at £50+ a pop a bit pricey when you want tree or four. Would some AA guns be out of place? How would the Torpedos come to the dock for reloading, boat, rail or lorries? 'scuse all the silly questions, but I'm no historian, I just like sticking bits of plastic together :-) So any suggestions will be well received.
  4. I found that the best was to dust them on very lightly and avoid making things to wet. Otherwise nasty things start to happen. Smell odd and get rather foamy when shock up. they give a good finish though.
  5. Now I do like a Lightning and that is a cracker of a Lightning.
  6. I think that was a brain fart on my part, it is in fact the Miniart one. I would just say go for it.
  7. Just read this from the start. A very good build this. Some great detail and loads of back ground research. Nice one.
  8. The colours are all from DOA and are their set of Caunter colours. You can find them here http://trackpads.co.uk/doashop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=50
  9. Found another one that you might like. This time an A3 Honey. Build oob, paints from DOA weathered with oils and Vallejo pigments. Hope you like it Ian M
  10. The Decals are from Xtradecal tiger squadron sheet. So not in the Box from Airfix I'm afraid... Ian M
  11. G: if I remember correctly the main paint colour is DOA/Trackpads, Portland. The colour for the camo is Vallejo modelcolor. Dark olive I thinks. It was a while ago.
  12. Thanks chaps. Patrick; yes it is indeed the Miniart kit.
  13. Thanks for the kind words. Yup Flower class in the background. Been sitting there stalled for about three years now. Must dust it off one day and get her sorted.
  14. Planet models 1/48 scale Mk21. A nice kit to build with great castings. The decals are aftermarket but can't remember from whom! Alclad for the silver. Ian M
  15. Here is one of Airfix's Lightning and what I got out of it. Painted with Alcads Comments welcome. Ian M
  16. OK last tank for a while, This time its the Valentines big brother, Bishop. I think it was the Bronco one, but it was a great build. Even if I botched a few bits... :-( As you can see Bronco have yet to discover tanks need crew. Ian M
  17. Here is another Valentine, this time a III Paints are from DOA/track pads, weathered with Vallejo pigments. Yes sorry, I like Valentines... Ian M
  18. Thanks for the feedback. The main colour was airbrushed on and the pattern was down with a hairy stick and loads of coffee breaks! I just noticed that the second picture was after paint but before weathering... on a half finished base.. opps.
  19. Thanks chaps. Its built OOB so any errors are down to Academy. It is not burned out, Shermaniac, just abandoned. So no piles of ash where the tyres would have been.
  20. Another one finished a while ago. A great kit to built and fun to paint as well! Ian M
  21. Forgotten, but not gone. He is my rendition of Academy's M3 Grant. Finished a month or so I just thought I would share it with you. Comments welcome... Hope you like it Ian M
  22. Any of the armour guys here know if there is an after market kit of the Radial engine used in the M3 Grant, in 1/35 scale. Ian M
