  1. I want to model a 1/72 Hunter FR10 using the Revell FGA9 as a basis for that. I think that the only mod to the FGA9 is the camera nose. The question is does anybody know if there is such a conversion or is it simpler to do a DIY conversion. Looking at pictures of the FR10 it seems as though the nose cone is slightly longer and more pointed that that the FGA9.

Any help, advice or suggestions would be most welcome.

    Thanks in advance,

    John

  3. Good evening Bmers,

I want to purchase a 1/72 Tornado F3 and GR1/4 for my collection. I know that some of the maufacturers of these are either Hasegawa or Airfix. Which of these is best? All comments very welcome!

    Thanks,

    John

  4. I've just seen the Osprey again! This lime flying low in a westerly direction. This time the engines were in the hover mode but the aircarft was still moving forwards! What is it doing - giving demo rides to potential customers at Farnborough??

  5. Nice pictures.

When ARE BA going to get shot of those clapped out old 737-400's? The last one I flew in was decrepit inside! I did ask the Captain (when on the ground) when the -400's would be replaced. If I remember rightly he said that a decision was being made - either new A320s or 737-800s(!). Better to keep with Airbuses for maintenance/spares purposes rather than introduce a new type??

Has anybody heard what is in mind? the -400s are going on 35 years old - and showing it!

  6. Just wanted to tell BMers what wonderful service Colin at Freightdog gives. I ordered my Hunter F4 decals on Saturday, they arrived today! Thank you Colin - and they are VERY nice decals too for a lovely aeroplane.

  7. Something I had not thought of so worth considering. I am unsure if others who had already done Vulcan (etc...) decals in 1/72 might be better placed to scale down rather than us starting from scratch.

I just googled that Tempest- very nice. Do you have any pictures as what I actually found were profiles and Flight Simulator images.

    Best Regards,

    Ed Grantham

Unfortunately other decals provider seem less than interested in the V bomber suggestion. Re the Tempest I don't have any more info that you do, although that scheme was includes in the Profifak version of the Tempest that was issued last time around. Indeed how about a selection of silver Tempest schemes??

    Thanks,

    John

  8. Well there are certainly plenty of wants here! But I spy a gap, particularly in the scales being suggested. Although I model in 1:48, I also do 1:144 for the larger aircraft. So how about 1:144 V bombers both in camo, white and anti-flash schemes, and others such as RAF Britannias etc etc.

And finally - and it is outside your time frame - that lovely NMF Tempest V J5-E SN330 of 3 Sqdn with the emerald green codes. Now that would be nive and go with the recently released Eduard kit.

    Here's hoping...

  9. As far as I am concerned a very poor and disappointing selection - certainly as far as those of us who 'do' 1:48 aircraft kits. Nothing new at all! And why do they persist in ever more Spitfires, Mustangs and Bf109's! At least there could be interesting kits from other manufacturers such as the MPM Firefly.

So Airfix will not be doing very well from me either.
