  1. No sign of the 1/144 A400M yet. Pity. John
  2. Other than an Airfix poster, no sign of any models in Guildford Smiths this morning. John
  3. Mine arrived today. Thank you - they are GREAT! I echo the request for decals for the Victor. John
  4. Colin - unfortunately I cannot get to SMW this year so could I order the Harrier GR3 fin from you please prior to SMW? Thanks, John
  5. But is the fin too short for a GR3? John
  6. I've ordered mine and see that they have been posted - thanks Wally! The decals look super and the pdf instruction sheet is an absolute mine of information about Vulcans. Go buy! what a clever system to get the placement detail on to a pdf! John
  7. P J Productions did a resin - and very nice - model of the HunterF5 with 34 Sqdn decals. I'm not sure that they are available now but try e-bay. That's where I got mine from. John
  8. An A400M in 1/144 scale please John
  9. Hi Hub - why not PM John Aero(Aeroclub) to see if he can help you? John
  10. Just seen the VC10 tanker doing a low pass over Dunsfold, Cranleigh. A Stampe was in the same area at the same time! John
  11. Just had the BoBMF Lancaster and silver Spitfire fly over presumably en route to Dunsfold in readiness for this weekend's Wings and Wheels. No sign of a BoBMF Hurricane though. Where are they? John
  12. Hi Paul, I would stick with Nikon lenses. The 55-200 is pretty good and light as is the 55-300. But the 18-200 is good as well, although a bit chunky. Much depends on what you want to use the camera for - if it is for general purposes the 18-200 will be fine. HTH John
  13. My Canberra has not arrived from Model-Craft yet either, but I've only been waiting 6 weeks! Not good. John
  14. I've had this book for about a week now and have given it a good look over. I would agree that it is well worth while - but there are some mistakes? Does the yellow Mosquito T3 really have 2 stage Merlin engines? Likewise on the Sabre it is not clear if it has the 6-3 wing or not. There are no wingfences but the wing chord does extend slightly it joins the fuselage which suggests that it is a 6-3 variant. Or is that nitpicking? John
  15. Hi Paul, Me again. What I should have said is that the 3200 has a 24 megapixel sensor, while the 5100 had 16 megapixel sensor. What this means in real terms in picture quality I'm not sure! The 5100 has a reversible flip out LCD screen while the 3200's is fixed. I refer the flip out screen. John
  16. Hi Paul, I had a D5100 body and was very happy with it, but then it fell in the sea and did not work too well after that! Fortunately it was insured so I now have a D5200. I handled both the 5100 and 3100 before I bought and felt that the 5100 was the better of the two. But whichever one you get I'm sure that you will be happy with it. John
  17. Nice pics Paul. It's not the easiest place to take pictures at. John
  18. Hi Simon, I have compared the props in the Magna kit with those in the Airfix kit. The prop blades look to be almost identical in length, but the chord of the blade in the Airfix kit is much narrower. I am still looking for 4 bladed props (3.7cm diameter in 1/72 scale) for my Jetstream T3. Can anybody help at all please? Thanks, John
  19. Collectakit had an Auster AOP9 in their sale list (as of end April). Contact them? HTH John
  20. Thanks all, The postie should be delivering my B6 (today?) so I shall take all these comments on board with great interest. I managed to get mine from model-craft in the UK at a pretty good price. The B6 in Suez markings in the last post looks superb - well done! Were they the kit markings? Cheers, John
  21. Has anybody made a High Planes Canberra kit? Since Airfix refuse to produce a B2/6 I am vaguely tempted by the High Planes B2 kit but wonder what it is like. Your views would be welcome please. Thanks, John
