  1. Welsh Models have a P8 model already. John
  2. Oh dear - and I realise that my comments may not be popular - but I am very disappointed with the 2016 releases. Other that the JP3 and Beaufighter there is nothing there for me. They could have been much braver - a multi variant Hunter for example. Thank good ness for the other manufacturers who are prepared to take a risk - Sword, Micro Mir are good examples. Still my bank balance wil not be too affected! John
  3. While it looks as though there will be few 1/144 scale announcements at SMW unfortunately, we do have a number of interesting models to look forward to such as the announced Lincoln from AModel, the Minicraft stretched Hercules, the Great Wall Victor K2 - and hopefully (fingers crossed) the Argosy from Mikro Mir. In addition of course there are the Welsh Models production, so all is not doom and gloom. John
  4. Simon, That looks good - well done! John
  5. I would prefer a 1/144 scale injected version. What about it Micro Mir!!! John
  6. I heard a rumour that Micro Mirs next RAF Transport plane release will be an A W Argosy. I wonder if there is any truth in that - I do hope so! John
  7. Very nice model of an intersting aeroplane. Mine is nowhere near finishing! John
  8. Well Airfix are doing more boring aircraft - when will they do something interesting? At least I won't have to spend very much with them next year but look to the manufacturers doing the good stuff! JOhn
  9. Kirk - the main reason he gave was lack of Airbus support, plus the sheer cost of operating Concorde which he put at £50k/hour. in addition there would be the environmental issues - including noise and perhaps the market is no longer there. Despite all that it was a wonderful aeroplane. John
  10. Mel had the Provost kits at Farnborough Modelfest last Saturday, and very good it looked too - nicely detailed with fine panel lines. Unfortunately he did not have any boxes, decals or instruction so could not sell them as I would had bought one there and then, but they will be ready by SMW. John
  11. I attended an AirAces lecture last evening in Chichester. It was given by Jock Reid, a Concorde pilot, on the passenger experience of Concorde, and the Paris accident and how they go the aircraft back into service. One of the questions asked was on whether Concorde could be brought back into service. HIs view was no. John
  12. I really ought to start using my airbush for painting my models before I am very much older! I tend to use acrylic paints these days and gather that a flow improver can assist spraying acrylics. So some questions: - do you add the flow improver to the paint as a type of thinner or in addition to acrylic thinner? - how much flow improver do you add? - can I use anything else in place of flow improver? - should I use flow improver with a hairy stick? Sorry to be a bit clueless on all this but I would appreciate whatever advice you can offer please. Thanks, John
  13. How nice to see a picture - a great picture - of a Hurricane! John
  14. Since I could not see the takeoff, I did watch the Channel 4 programme and was less than impressed by it. The usual Spitfire glorification, no mention of Hurricanes even when they were in shot on the screen, nor that Hurricanes destroyed more enemy aircraft than all the other defences combined. Too much chatter - much of it inane from the presenter. But good to see Tom Neil get a flight. John
  15. I was at Goodwood for 10.00 this morning, expecting to see them take off at 12 as planned, before I left at 12.30 on grandparenting duties in Cranleigh, some 35 miles away. So when the takeoff was cancelled until 14.00 I had to leave before the take off - @&£':;! I have to say that I thought the aircraft were poorly displayed - they were all placed at the south end of the airfield within easy view of the assorted so called VIPs. Even with a 9x binoculars it was difficult to see the aircraft in any detail from where I was seated. And of course if Goodwood had metalled runways there would have been no problems! John
  16. Hi Darren, Excellent build of a lovely aeroplane. I have one in the waiting list as well. Just one point - I am a guide at Tangmere Military Aviation Museum and we have a Hunter F5 there which has the link collectors fitted. Likewise there are photos there of both the Hunters of 1 and 34 Sqdns - as far as I can see all of them have the link collectors fitted. John
  17. Any chance of the V bomber decals in 1/144 scale please? John
  18. Hi Keith, If you PM me your e-mail address I send you a scanned copy. This is a repeat message from the one in the main Beverley thread. Cheers, John
  19. Just received my Beverley and have to say that it looks very good indeed. Fine panel lines, internal detail so that you can model it with the clamshell doors off. 4 decal options, 3 silver/white machines and a desert camouflage machine. Count me happy! Well done Micro Mir - now for an A W Argosy. John
  20. Not a lot to get excited about with these releases as far as I am concerned. Hopefully something more exciting - such as a 1/72 multi variant Hunter - will be announced? John
  21. I was given to believe that Ray from 26 Decaks was going to downsize his Valiant/victor decals to 1/144 scale at some stage but no sign of anything yet. Still hoping though. John
