  1. The Anigrand Belfast is pretty good! John
  2. Got the 737-800 and await the conversion. Thanks Mel! John
  3. I am not sure about the accuracy of the plans in the Warpaint, but as far as I know they are the only game in town. If you want a copy of the Warpaint, google Guideline productions warpaint and no 62 covers the Hastings, and will have a set of 1/72 scale plans included., as well as colour schemes. Unless anybody knows of a better plan? Hope that helps, John
  4. Have you looked at the drawings in the Warpaint publication on the Hastings? John
  5. I believe that Mel at S & M Models is doing a conversion for a 1/144 scale Poseidon based on the Revell 737-800 kit. My 737-800 awaits! John

I agree - looking very good. John
  7. Hi Richard, You may find the the maritime reconnaissance decals produced by S & M Models will be of help. They give assorted markings for M R aircraft , but no roundels. Have a look on their web site? Hope this helps. John

    RAF Sabre F4

Thanks for the tip Ian - I have just ordered the slat set for the F86 which are done separately. Post/packing from NZ is a bit eye watering though! Many thanks to those that helped me - BM to the rescue again! John
  9. I am currently building a1/48 scale RAF Sabre F4. The kit has the hard 6-3 wing. However, I am toying whether to build another RAF Sabre, this time with the earlier slatted wing. Having had a look at available kits, it looks as though they all feature the 6-3 wing, unless anybody can point me towards a kit with the slatted wing. I gather that Cutting Edge did a slatted wing conversion, but these look to be out of production now, unless anybody has got a set that they do not need? Other than that the only way forward that I can see is to use the slatted wings from the F86D and mate those to an F86E/F fuselage. I would be grateful for advice/thoughts please. John
  10. Very nice Ian - well done. I wish I could get hold of a CA Meteor T7 -- they really are rarer than rocking horse poo! John
  11. I got my GWH Victor K2 from the Aviation Megastore in Holland. I too had one on back order from Hannants and they could not deliver for some reason so ordered one from the Megastore. It was delivered very quickly. I see from their website that they are still available for just on 55 euros. It is a delightful kit! Since it from the EU there are no import duty costs attached. Hope this helps. John

    1/144 Scale AW Argosy

Well done Micro Mir! The Argosy looks splendid. When do you think it might be available? And a Hasting as well - how wonderful - thank you! John
  13. Hi Nige - 1/48 scale unfortunately. I gather that Airwaves did a 1/48 version but does not seem to be available now. Nothing on ebay either. But the Hurricane MDF has drawings in 1/48 scale so may be able to modify the kit offering. Thanks, John
  14. I am contemplating making a Hurricane IV which of course has an armoured radiator. Does any BMer know of an after market company that did/does the armoured radiator at all please? Alternatively are there any drawings of the armoured radiator that I could use to convert the standard radiator? Thanks, John
  15. I'll happily accept what you say Ian and Tony. Whatever it is a very good model of an interesting aeroplane. John
  16. I had not seen the sprue shots when I replied to this question, but now that I have, the pod is very similar to that used by the Red Arrows on their Hawks. As I said before the pod on the sprue shot is not correct for a T2 Hawk but can be modified as I suggested. John
  17. No the pod on the Red Arrows Hawk is not the same as that used on the Hawk T2. The latter is longer and slightly different in shape. I am making a Hawk T2 from the 1/48 Airfix 100 kit and have made the pod, Fortunately I had the 1/72 pod issued by Freightdog as a guide so could take the dimensions from that and increase it by 50%. You can use the drop tank in the kit for the front end and body of the pod then build the rear end from plastic strip/filler. It's not that difficult and the finished thing looks OK. John
  18. Looks very good Ian. I have seen reference to 28 Sqdn Venoms had silver undersides? John
  19. That's very nice Ian. Well done! John
