  1. Hi, try this site http://www.dstorm.eu/pages/color/usa.html
  2. http://www.3dmodelparts.com/ship-accessories/ I have bought quad 0.5 mg's and they are very nice, I have also bought the quad and octuplet pom poms, 20mm oerlikons, 4x 40mm, 2x 40mm, twin oerlikons and have more on order. Carl is a very helpful gent and is always adding to his range. Hope this helps. P.s. I have bought all the QE class ships from Mike at http://www.mjwmodels.co.uk and have not seen anyone to match his price and service. Mick
  3. Looking great so far, canopy from a B-25?
  4. Fantastic pictures, thank you for posting them. As a complete amateur, I took 5400 over 3 days and not one is any where near the quality of these. If I could ask, are these hand held shots? best wishes Mick
  5. Hi, I was camping on Totterdown, not one of my pictures com anywhere near these. Thanks for sharing. Which field were you in ? Mick
  6. Hi, if you are going to Hobbycraft, get a bottle of Winsor & Newton acrylic matt varnish. Be warned this can be very matt. Hope this helps. try here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/46166-winsor-newton-galeria-matt-varnish/?hl=+matt +varnish Mick
  7. Hi, you can download a very nice looking TB2 here if you have the patience, lol http://www.papercraftsquare.com/thunderbird-2-transporter-aircraft-paper-model-free-download.html just scroll down for templates and instructions. Mick
  8. That looks brilliant. New to ships?, I think I should give up now lol.
  9. Ross, Soviet ships are the ones that got me back into model ships after a 25 year break, these are old and before I started trying to use photo-etch. Mick
  10. Ross, you will have a great time with the Kirov class, lots of detail and tiny parts lol. look forward to watching. Mick
  11. Great job, makes mine look like a toy , you have done a fine job on the rigging and paintwork. What's next ? Mick
  12. Tim, the manufacturers should be paying you for showing what is possible with their products. Amazing !!! Mick
  13. Ross, you've done a fine job with the rigging, now get on with it, we are waiting for more Mick
  14. Ross, I don't know where I got this from, but try putting a tiny drop of ca on the model where you want to attach the rigging, then dip the end of the rigging itself in superglue accelerator and bring the two together. may be worth a try. Mick
  15. Tim, this just keeps getting better and better. It amazes me that even with your phenomenal skill with photo-etch, there is never ever a sign of glue anywhere. It's people such as yourself that inspire many of us to try out etch, though I realise I will never be up to your master standards, I hope to improve the appearance of my models. Keep up the excellent work Mick
  16. Dave, they do both quad and octupal pom pom's, I am very impressed with the octupal I received today. Mick
  17. Hi, before I start I have no affiliation with this company what so ever. I just thought that any builders of 1/700 US or RN warships should take a look at this site. http://www.3dmodelparts.com/ship-accessories/?sort=featured&page=2 I received my order of octuple pom pom's today and am totally amazed at the quality of the parts. These are 3D printed in acrylic resin and are very fine, they are much easier than photo-etch and have 3D barrels. They can also be set at any elevation, so are ideal for diorama's. I hope that some one finds a use for these as I think they are amazing. There are several different weapons and a few structure parts available. Mick ps, I have been chatting to the owner and he is asking for suggestions on his new items.
  18. My Flyhawk HMS Naiad arrived today, 9 days from China with free P+P, takes some beating. In my opinion, anyone who buys this is in for a fantastic treat, almost everything you need to make a great model in one box. The quality and detail of the moulding is absolutely fantastic, masts are very fine and in a separate box. This is by far the best quality model I have ever bought, but am a bit awestruck by it and worried about making a complete hash of it. Mick
  19. In the meantime, try this http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10040759z/70/1 click on the item page and all pages of the instructions are there. Mick

Hi, I don't know if this is of any help, but if you use acrylics, try this http://www.finewaterline.com/pages/tips&tricks/vallejo%20paints/VallejoWWIINavalColorEquivalents.pdf I find it useful Mick
  21. Hi Ross, Tamiya now do a Sasebo grey, which is XF-77 and a Kure grey, which is XF-75. Keep up the great work. Mick
  22. According to the Yahagi TROM, she was completed at Sasebo, so would be painted Sasebo grey in her early colours but had a refit at Kure in june/july '44 and therefore could have been repainted in Kure grey. http://www.combinedfleet.com/yahagi_t.htm Mick
