  1. Lovely job! Top work on those yellow wings, not an easy colour to get looking that good. I hate masking and have a very similar technique for canopy framing to you, it was interesting to read your description!👍
  2. I have the Comet 4 in the stash waiting to be built. Issues I am slowly working out a plan for correcting include: Erroneous wing dihedral Nacelles based on the Nimrod and needing cutting and reducing in depth Very simplistic and translucent canopy Unusuable wheels and exhaust cans Asymmetric attachment stubs for tailplanes Oval fuselage windows which do not line up but are also twisted out of misalignment However there is not other good option for a 1/72 Comet, so as others have said beggars can't be choosers! Most of the recent British transports have been served with resin sets from Air-Graphics which should help, I am awaiting the Comet one while kicking myself that I never bought the AlleyCat Nimrod canopy set...
  3. I think all Shackleton wheel wells were White, although they rapidly weather and get filthy. The legs and hubs are a pale grey colour, I think I went for something around Medium Sea Grey.
  4. Wonderful build of a terrifying-looking machine. Imagine trying to land it!
  5. They look great! Did you have any issues with modelling in the tropics? I did a couple of builds as a PhD student in Malaysia and found that the heat and humidity made painting quite a challenge.
  6. Brilliant collection! I think the Black Arrows Hunter is my favourite but they're all top notch. The stand is almost invisible in the first photo of the two Vampires, I did a double take wondering how VT821 was just hovering there!
  7. That's very smart and nobody would know you'd been away for a long time! It's a great scheme especially the giant dayglo code numbers, and top marks for doing the research and the Austria-specific mods. I hope your friend was chuffed with it, I would be!
  8. Superb, I have never seen better Italian camo! 😍
  9. Superb! I don't blame you for cheating and using decals for the camo, I think that masking job would drive anyone insane...
  10. Lovely! That old Matchbox kit scrubs up well
  11. Not the first what-if RAF Tomcat I've seen but definitely the best. It just looks so right in desert sand, and the weathering on the exhausts is superb. 👏
  12. That's a beauty, as are the other two! Wellsprop's conversion really looks the part and seamlessly merges into the kit and it's great to see the MSG/PRU blue scheme
  13. That'd be great, I've been scratching my head over Nimrod wheels but the hubs are totally different! Keep us posted...
  14. These look great, don't suppose you'd consider doing a run of wheels for the Mach 2 Comet 4C? I would certainly buy a set!
  15. Great stuff, you don't see too many Hinds built and I love the unusual African scheme
  16. Superb! Looks like Arma have turned out another belter of a kit
  17. This is stunning, I take my hat off! Wish I had had the skills and materials to 3D print stuff like the engines and seat, it would have made my life much easier! The line drawing of the working platforms is from the original AP which I viewed in the National Archives and which dates from the time of the prototype's approval for service (IIRC it's dated 1936) so I can only assume they were used on RAF machines as well as the Canadian aircraft
  18. A poor year for 72nd nuts like me but very much pleased about this one, that RAuxAF snazzy tail scheme is perfect!
  19. Wow, lovely build! Thanks for the interesting (if tragic) backstory.
