  1. Hi all... Slight diversion from modelling this weekend as I had to spray the wing mirror casing on my car (satin black) - don't ask! Paint has gone on well but the final coat is left feeling a bit rough to the touch. Is there anything I can get that I can polish it smooth without damaging the paint (was thinking micromesh?) - if so, some guidance on what to buy would be most welcome. Thank you all. GK
  2. Looks very well done to me! Only ever built the F3 from this vintage of airfix - latest was their new F2a.
  3. Any idea where they were going? Flight radar suggested they came up from Cambridge but lost it on flight radar near Pitlochrie... I only saw the one Spitfire.
  4. Spitfire flew directly overhead heading north toward Edinburgh this morning. Lovely to see (and hear). 🙂
  5. Hi all, Not sure if this is the right section for this post - apologies to the mods if not. Short story is that I've got a few pointy jets in the stash that need built but I can't abide painting and decaling missiles. Is there anywhere that anyone knows of that sells pre-painted 1/72 AAMs? I know that this will be sacrilege to many but I just don't have the patience for this anymore! Thanks, GJ
  6. You hand painted Tamiya acrylics? 😳 👏👏👏
  7. Cool. Saw this flying at Duxford flying legends a few years back - marvellous display. Seem to recall call sign "joker" was used. Nice build!
  8. Lovely. It's amazing how advanced the Draken was for its time. You've done an excellent job on these!
  9. My favourite 109 scheme - all thanks to Matchbox's little Emil and a well spent youth!
  10. Very nice build there indeed. The thought of a one way nuclear strike is quite sobering!
  11. Great looking build, well done! Can't help thinking that the La-9 looks like the result of what you might get if an FW190 and a P-40 mated!!!
  12. The Hurricane looks great with the late war roundels. Models look great!
  13. Lovely! Looks so good in the RAF scheme and a pleasant change from the usual!
  14. As others have said, that's lovely. I've never built a tiger moth as I tend to shy away from biplanes - fiddly struts and all that rigging have always put me off. An inspiring build!
  15. Lovely job on that one and love the base also - really looks great! I'm going to be contiversial though... I really don't like the prop blur! It looks like a cartoon drawing in my humble opinion. I guess this is one where beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
  16. I think you've done a lovely job with that It really was an amazing looking aeroplane!
  17. Ahh, the Beaufighter - two engines hotly pursued by an airframe! Lovely job and it looks really good in this scheme!
