  1. Brilliant, my favourite aircraft done to perfection!!
  2. Thanks guys! The base was something I knocked together on my mac in a few minutes, the flack is supposed to be oil stains!!!
  3. Very nice, what colour did you use for the upper surface? I have just attempted a RN Hunter and I think they grey is too light. Cheers Simon
  4. Thanks guys, I almost gave up half way through but I think it was worth the trouble! Cheers Simon
  5. Hi all, First finished model to this site, i've posted a few to the 1:72 scale forum. Anyway, this was basically a test bed for a few techniques that are new to me and to see if I could make something interesting from the good old Airfix kit (I know not perfect but it kept me occupied!). I filled the gun bays, removed the tailpipe cover, added a metal arrestor hook, scribed a few panel lines on the wings, (couldn't figure out how to do it on the fuselage!), added flaps and finally used my new airbush for the first time, not used one for 20 years!). The decals were All Mark and I amended them from XF287 to XF297 based at Brawdy in the 60's. And here's what I ended up with... Crit is more than welcome. Cheers Simon
  6. I have also got 2 in the stash, but may wait to see if the xtrakit one does emerge before I resort to tacking the matchbox monster! Alan Halls Warpaint book on the Hunter also has 1:72 scale plans of the T7 and its choc full of colour profiles. Cheers Simon
  7. Like the look of those - I've got a matchbox T7 in the stash, but is there anything you can do with that cockpit?? Simon
  8. Thanks again Bill, I am aware of most of the marks, but still getting my head around some of the different variations, need my dad around, he was an RAF armourer on Hunters in the 50's & 60's!
  9. Just checked my photos, yep grey u/c!
  10. I stand corrected then! I assumed it was ex FAA due to the nose cone! But you're right, its a great paint job, looking forward to seeing the ex-Danish F4 when its finished - if in fact it is an F4!! Cheers Simon
  11. Thanks for all your replies, I need to get down to Bentwaters at some point to do a review for a website I run, you may be interested Graham! Norwich, where I live have got a converted FAA Hunter in 79 squadron colours, pretty sure the legs are silver. http://www.aviationmuseumguide.co.uk/ Cheers Simon
  12. Thanks Bill, very useful website as well! Cheers Simon
  13. Hi all, I am currently working on a 1:72 scale 1960's era FAA Hunter GA11, can anybody confirm that the undercarriage is silver/metal as per the RAF Hunters? Thanks in advance Simon
