  1. Three superb models, beautifully photographed. Gotta love that 707! Richard
  2. Lovely build of a lovely aeroplane Micha. It brings back many happy memories of the F100 and F70. Richard
  3. Excuse me, but a nice man called Obi-Jiff Kenobi said I would find a group build around here. Is it all right if I bring my B-17G along too? (Although, looking at the timescale and after searching through the stash, it may have turned into a B-25 or a B-26 or a P-51 by then.) Richard
  4. Two excellent builds and an interesting story - I particularly like the "overpainted" scheme, it looks so different for an airliner! And, having built the beast in the dim and distant past I can appreciate the amount of work you have put into these two. Richard
  5. That'll be 5 Gnats minimum then:- Yellow Jacks Red Arrows Natural Metal / Dayglo Red / White / Grey Raspberry Ripple .......and I'm sure I'll think of some more Richard
  6. I'm not so sure about the Spitfire, but I can certainly see a bomber Mosquito coming soon. I think that the Corsair would be a very sensible choice for the next 'new' mould; for UK modellers we have the Fleet Air Arm aircraft, and for the bigger market there are the USN versions. Richard
  7. Very nice indeed, and as Mr B said, it's not a tail sitter. I built one when it first came out and could I keep the nosewheel down? No chance! Plus it didn't look anything like as good as yours. Richard
  8. My original plan when I bought the decals was to do as you did and use Humbrol Midnight Blue, but the few photos that I've seen of the original look very dark - almost black in fact. So I think some mixing is going to be in order. The question is, do I add blue to black or black to blue? Or do I try and find a suitable Halfords car spray? Perhaps I should get it built before I start worrying about that! Thanks for the tip about the wing tips. Richard ps Nothing basic about your build - if mine gets close to that standard I shall be very pleased.
  9. That is a very nice build. You've motivated me - I've already found the decals and the Hasegawa GR.5 in the stash - now to get started (hairy stick and all)! Richard
  10. Thanks Erwin That picture is splendid - My googling didn't come up with anything that good. Off to the workbench! Richard
  11. For the first time in many years I am building a Luftwaffe a/c - the Airfix Bf110C. Problem is, my knowledge of this subject could be written on the back of the proverbial postage stamp. So, what size of swastika should I use on the tails? I have in my decal stash the freebie sheet from SAM many years ago which has a goodly selection of styles and sizes but no instructions as to which aircraft they should be used on. Any guidance would be very much appreciated. Thanks Richard
