  1. Gutted to hear this, my thoughts are with his family. I only dealt with his wife Kyoko Hiro as she was the English speaker of the company, but I somehow felt I knew him through his kits.
  2. I haven't posted much lately as I try to get this to the line before the end of the group build. Primed and pre-shaded For the aircraft ID numbers I made some stencils And the finished aircraft, I was unable to get it to sit on the nose wheel with internal ballast, this required a tail steady
  3. I was just checking that set out, definitely looks worth 50 quid.
  4. I haven't had any problems for the last few orders I've made, and they have been in recent months.
  5. Order from here: https://www.hobbyeasy.com/en/data/mh0sxkkxcjhkupef1am6.html They are reliable and usually deliver without getting snagged for customs charges.
  6. The wings are on and its starting to look like an aeroplane. However more filler required.
  7. The canopies are on and some more filler around the windscreens: Tail is on and again some filler required,
  8. I've closed the fuse up with the windows installed, The fuse fitted together only after a lot of fettling of the cockpit bulkhead and floor. The nose extension didn't fit really well and needed adjusting, The resin inserts to go over the cockpit coaming also don't fit, not wide enough so had to be split. This will have to be filled and re-profiled. Cheers, Stuart
  9. With some filler I've improved the fit of the front nacelles. The flightdeck is a bit of a dogs breakfast, the fit is quite bad but it won't really be seen. The internal floor is there purely for support. And I've added some nose weight, the instructions don't specify an actual weight so I just filled the area with white metal waste. Cheers, Stuart
  10. Only making very slow progress on this kit, some basic assembly: This revealed some poor fit between the plastic parts and the resin parts: More soon. Cheers, Stuart
  11. I'm looking forward to the continuation of the Rey storyline. Really liked the Daisy Ridley films.
  12. Interesting, expect MFH 4/4s to appear on ebay over the next few days.
  13. The tyre depend on how old the kit is. The slicks are in the newer kits, wets in the older kits. I built the older Jagermeister version which had wets and swapped them when the most recent kits were issued.
  14. There are home laser cutters available that can cut thin plywood: https://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/glowforge-pro-3d-laser-printer/6612631000.html I seriously doubt it could cut any metals but you could produce laser cut plastic sheet for similar effect.
  15. Checking my kitbase list I have 36 MFH kits and I have built precisely none. The complexity is only part of it, the cost as well. They are very nice kits and I have bought them when I could because they are next to impossible to find once they have gone out of production. I do intend to build them, but I could say the same for the rest of the stash. I wouldn't regard them as an investment as they rarely seem to go for the original price when they do appear on ebay.
  16. Perhaps you could use the other kit for this version: Rosenbauer Panther
  17. I'm throwing my hat into the ring with this one: A nice little kit from Azur. Here are the parts: Supervisor Maddie will provide quality control and cat hair: I will be attempting to replicate this airframe: Currently on display at the Dassault factory in Mérignac.
  18. Wow, ambitious. I bought the Broplan 7X some time ago and it looks like it needs a lot of work to make it presentable.
  19. Looking forward to the GB, I've still not settled on what to build yet but there is plenty of choice in the stash.
  20. It's a really nice looking kit, I've been fondling the parts since I got mine. One thing I noticed was that the end of the engine part DCA-21 in my kit is a little warped, the clutch bell housing face isn't flat and one of the cylinder head ends is also a bit bent. Could you have a look at yours M. and see if it's the same please? Not sure if it's a casting issue or it's just mine that needs straightening. Cheers, Stuart
  21. The only pictures I can find with the front disc removed are tiny (in the Joe Honda books), I think they show there is a flange on the upright but I can't make out what shape it is even. The wheel hub and disc / carrier appear to be a single unit bolted through the flange as it is seen separately on the workshop floor.
