Thanks, yes I'd guessed you took it to bits, probably not a good idea to do it on one piece as the vibrations would likely cause wear. I read a couple of reviews and they talk about putting watches etc in there so it must be a decent size. Still watching a couple on eBay but that is an option!

Very nice indeed, I enjoyed the one I built too. If you do fancy adding a base I can recommend the miniart range they're great to put together and paint!

Same here! The one thing I really like is you don't have to be super neat, as mistakes can be covered with weathering or blamed on the crew!!

Looks very good, good idea on the glass slides, might have to look for some on ebay.. Another good shout using tea leaves as scatter, I did that around the base of my barn dio, you can mix it directly with paint and PVA and apply, I also used some uncoloured bits to add contrast.

That says resin base, so I assume that means acrylic, but we shall see! I'm sure some YouTube video reviews will soon pop up!

Interesting..I was expecting this to be the True metal line when I saw the post. I've just ordered a tube to try. Unless I've missed it, there's no indication of what sort of paint it is, it doesn't mention what to clean AB with...I wonder if it's the same as the true metals, just pre-thinned.

I hope it's the paste the wall type....

Not so much of an issue as the frames cover the gaps anyway I guess!! Are you going to add broken glass to windows? Any rubble or is it just an OOB build?

Nice tutorial, I built the slightly smaller European barn dio as a base for my Tamiya Cromwell, despite being my first attempt at a vac form I found it nice to work with. I also used the off cuts to make the tabs as you suggested and after discovering the fit around doorways and windows were a touch iffy I used longer strips there to give a backing for filler later.

My understanding is that you take the paint squirter to bits, put it in with some cleaner and hey presto it comes out better than new! At least that's what I hope....

Thanks, JPL seems to be the brand they have, which I'd seen a couple second hand, £45 seems to be their cheapest which is a touch out of my budget. At least they get good reviews!

Good Morning all, I'm thinking about investing in an ultrasonic cleaner as my airbrush could do with a deep clean! Any body got any recommendations for a brand or specific model? I don't want to spend too much, I have been looking at second hand ones on eBay. I know lidl periodically have them in but I always seem to miss them! Any suggestions appreciated! Phil

Nice work Andy, I like the chipping that's worked well. I glued my Cromwell tracks with super glue too, but they state on the instructions that you could glue it, so maybe the newer ones are slightly different material...

Thanks everyone for the comments! Interesting you should mention the road wheels on the turret, I was going to put them there but couldn't work out how they attached I would never have thought they were welded!

Good evening BMers, I present my first tank model for some 15+ years, I was inspired to have a go at one by the GB that is currently on going, some great models being built for it! Here's my build threadhttp://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234976321-135-cromwell-finished/?p=1931976 Things have moved on a bit since last time I built one, all sorts of weathering potions are available now, some of which I tried, some I liked some I couldn't really see the point of, other than to part us modellers with hard earned cash! Some things don't change though, tamiya kits are still top draw to put together! I also added vents from an Eduard etch set (the only bits the dog didn't intercept and chew up when the set arrived!). The spare road wheels are from ultra cast and the tarp covered stowage bundle was home made. To set the tank off I added a set of Miniart tank riders and a Minart base, I really enjoyed painting figures again the the base was a blast to build. Right getting there now! Gloss coat, decals, gloss and panel line wash plus first Matt coat gets me here: So not much left to do now, just the fiddly bits.... Hopefully my next update will be the completed Mig Phil

I've built about 5 now and I've never had an issue with superglue on the white metal. It could be that the surface needs a light swipe with sand paper to key it. Failing that try 5 min expoy glue instead.,

The only real downside the the etching primers is that they tend to be cellulose based and hence are a bit nasty. Plus of course if you've purchased the vallejo primer you might not want to waste it...
