  1. Very nice Fuad! Outstanding job on that winter camouflage!
  2. Outstanding Fuad! And that's a long climb to that top cockpit!
  3. Love your personal thumbnail! I'm an old Navy EW guy, is there a story about where it comes from?

      TheyJammedKenny!

Glad you like it! When our EC-130H deployed to the Holy Land back in '98, this was the "morale patch" I designed for our "bags," worn informally, and the product of some Generation X brainstorming.  We couldn't get enough of South Park, LOL!  The local tailor shop created about 10 of these on consignment and this was the best of the lot.  Thanks for asking!

Intruders?  Then you know where I'm coming from.  We worked closely with the Intruder community while on deployment, too!  As I recall some ex-Compass Call and ex-Raven guys were assigned to your birds after we retired the EF-111s; I used to work with one--he said he loved your mission.

  4. Lovely! Thought the plain silver scheme might turn out a little boring, but the decals and details really make it sing!
  5. Very nice! Love an in-flight bird!
  6. Thanks Ed, I had seen that, and it does have some very useful info regarding the Re.2002 use in the unit. (Nothing on those mysterious yellow undersurfaces, though...) Cheers Herb
  7. Claus passed these screen captures to me to share. They do add more evidence for the use of some kind of purposeful yellow undersurface scheme for this unit. Finally, here's a concurrent B&W image of the two aircraft in question ("2BN+YB" and white "7") thanks to all for helping to sort this out... Cheers Herb
  8. Thank you Claus, can you post that screenshot from the front?
  9. The subject is a fairly well documented Luftwaffe unit assembled for anti-partisan operations in the south of France. From at least one photo (and profile), it appears at least some Re.2002 assigned may have had yellow undersurfaces. Can anyone confirm this scheme? (Both photo and profile were found on line, and their origin is unknown to me.) Cheers Herb
  10. Thanks Paul, just what I needed... Cheers Herb
  11. The Roden 1/48 kit of the B.E.12b has markings for C3114 (below), showing no whites in the roundels and the original B.E.2c rectangular horizontal tail plane. Is this right? Does any photo evidence exist? The references I have suggest all B.E.12b aircraft used the later, smaller, swept tip tail plane. Thanks for any persuasive confirmation one way or the other! Cheers Herb
  12. Glad you're feeling better Fuad! And beautiful Focke-Wulf!
  13. Fun to hear the enthusiasm about this "small air force" subject. I've got the 1/72 Aztec decals for this subject (Mercury's head) and won't be using them. Happy to pass them along for the postage... Herb
  14. Concur with Murph, multiples of 6 for strike planning and execution. Virtually all external payloads keep attack aircraft firmly subsonic due to drag. On egress, fuel consumption and threat is more likely to determine your speed. A-10 guys are different. Like to hear from one, but think they stay in the realm of 250-300 knots most of the time.
  15. Agree! Lovely work, and those transparencies really catch the eye!
  16. The unholy result of sex between an E-2 and A-6.
  17. No, I found the picture I was looking for as I posted on response #5. But thanks Nick...
  18. Thank you Gentlemen, just found visual evidence in World Air Power Journal volume 41. Two pictures of 800 NAS aircraft during Bosnian operations with single 1000 lb bomb on centerline and two AMRAAM under the wings (drops, strakes, no guns). I wasn't dreaming after all...! Appreciate everyone checking their refs... Cheers Herb
  19. Hi all. I'd like to model a particular SHAR I saw in a photo, but of course now can't find said photo. Presently I'm wondering if I saw it at all, or have to chalk it up to advancing dementia! It was a Sea Harrier FA.2 on the flight deck, with a bomb on the centerline (1000 lb GP I think?), two drop tanks (size?), and two AIM-120 on the wing rails. Not sure if the cannon pods were on or just strakes. Maybe from 899 squadron? Maybe during ops over Bosnia/former Yugoslavia? Hoping there are some Sea Harrier enthusiasts here with the answers. Any help finding the photo deeply appreciated, as is confirmation of the markings and loadout. Cheers Herb
