The 60mm SNEB pods came into service in the late 1960's. Before that they used 3" rockets. Selwyn

Another Harrier GR.3 - FINISHED - with Nav Lights!
Selwyn replied to Johnson's topic in Falklands War 40th Anniversary GB
There were three standards of seat used on the Harrier GR1/3 and T2/4 Front seat GR1/3 Front seat T2/4 Rear seat T2/4 They were basically the same Mk 9 seat but the main visual difference was the height of the canopy breakers each side of the headbox, check your reference pictures! The images shown in your post. First image is a Harrier seat it has the long combined harness straps fitted to Harrier and Jaguar around 1981 and the headbox strap stowage points introduced on both aircraft after 1983. Second image is a looks like a Jaguar GR3 seat with the Jaguar only modified headbox and it doesn't have the Personal Equipment Connector block (PEC) on the left side of the seat, and the CLL (RAF Coltishall) monogram is a bit of a givaway as well! The third picture is a Harrier seat between 1981 and 1983, it does not have the right hand PEC mounting or headbox stowage points fitted. Prior to 1981 the strap system was different so this strap system is inappropriate to the GR1 Harrier. The Neomega seat depicts the Jaguar GR3 seat with the very modified headbox, so also very inappropriate for the Harrier. Hope this helps! Selwyn -
Don't use the Neomega seat! This has the configuration and headbox that was only used on the late Jaguar, and is totally inappropriate for the Harrier GR1 or GR3. Speaking as someone who personally worked on harrier GR1/3 seats, the best and most accurate Harrier GR1 Mk 9 seat you can get comes in the Kinetic kit! The main problem with the kit item is the long seat strap system which were never ever used on GR1 and the GR3 up to 1981/82, when the Mk 9 seat was retrofitted with these straps. I have a image clearly showing the GR1 strap system if you want it. just let me know. Selwyn

Military staff cars were black in WW2 not neccesarily camoflaged. Selwyn

A SOE operative would most likely arrive at the airfield in a staff car, usually black in colour. Selwyn

The Jet pipe was exactly the same diameter on the F4 and F6. What differed was the diameter of the fairing around the jet pipe. Selwyn

if you look at the images here https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/70835-hawker-siddeley-harrier-single-seater/ if you look where the nosewheel is supported that is the point where the towbar is fitted. Selwyn

retaking MY islands !! Sea Harrier FRS 1
Selwyn replied to corsaircorp's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Two large air vents, just like the real thing, there is a pic of a GR3 rear deck in this https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/70835-hawker-siddeley-harrier-single-seater/#comment-880293 you have to scroll down quite a bit in the images to see, it was basically the same on the Sea harrier. The M116 was a war shot one use disposable rocket pod and would not be used for training. Do you mean the reusable M155 pod? Selwyn

Famous 85 Sq Hurricane photo, and maybe an identity?
Selwyn replied to Troy Smith's topic in Aircraft WWII
Don't make the assumption that aircraft letters always tie up with registrations! Due to losses and damaged aircraft going back for repair many different aircraft could have the same letter, sometimes aircraft changed letter within a squadron. Selwyn -
Luckily I have a supplier quite local in Stockport who will happily match to any standard. There are several around the country who do it, you just have to search the internet. Selwyn
-
You could also go to your local paint supplier who will make up a rattle can for you to any BS standard. Selwyn

Eggstrordinary collection, well done! Selwyn -
Don't know if this helps, but ejection seats are attached to the aircraft bulkhead via the ejection gun/rail assembly, not on the floor. When the pilot raises or lowers the seat the headbox/rail does not move, its fixed. The seat pan (the bit he sits on) is the bit that moves, so you can see differing size gaps between the headbox and seat pan on photographs depending on the hight the pilot has set the seat. Early seats had a handle to adjust this height (looked a bit like a big handbrake on the side of the seat) later aircraft use an electric motorised system. Selwyn

Probably an aerodynamic fairing used when missiles were nor carried. look at this link https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/477514-english-electric-lightning-technical-data-and-discussion/ scroll down and there are diagrams of the lightning missile packs. open up the later hidden links for more detail. David, I honestly don't know. They would be removable for servicing, but I don't know if they could fly with them removed. I know with the F2A that the "missile pack" could be removed and replaced with a lower gun pack, I assume the stubs were part of this removable missile pack, but the F3 didn't carry guns, and the F6 gun installation was in the front of the belly tank so I assume the missile pylon installation on these aircraft may have been different, probably to allow carriage of the Red Top missile. The integral Red Top Missile rail installation looks different as well . https://www.flickr.com/photos/52287882@N05/10230448266 Selwyn

The" Rail" arrived at the jet as part of the missile and came back and was removed after firing https://external-preview.redd.it/4ZmMKvw4vHdTNUU_jQCzV2FdJ-97qrTqrGIyBf-Zqbo.jpg?auto=webp&s=1f3576ae9410d5eb0540c8821c8426730e389221 Selwyn

Comparing the harrier dark admiralty grey cockpit colour to the Eduard and kits world panel colours I would say the Eduard is more accurate! From personal experience I tried a kits world 3d panel on another build, awful thing, ended up binning it. Selwyn
