  1. I'm still in. I was disappointed that this didn't get through this year.
  2. I bought a few things at Telford over the weekend. A member of IPMS Northern Ireland posted a list of kits he wanted to sell on another forum that I'm a member of, so I bought these, which included a rare Aurora 1/32 Rover BRM. P1060041 by timothy jones, on Flickr P1060042 by timothy jones, on Flickr P1060043 by timothy jones, on Flickr Other purchases ranged in scale and subject matter, including a rather silly one. 3. I'm not sure what 'Selection model' means but the kit includes figures of the girl, a robot and a teddy bear.
  4. Although I had a few candidates in the stash already I picked up a few more at Telford. 🙂 P1060028 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  5. Unless anything's changed in the last few minutes there are six GBs covered by four votes fighting for the last four places.
  6. There hasn't been much progress since the last update but I've got the body primered. P1050988 by timothy jones, on Flickr After wet sanding the primer the inside of the body got a couple of coats of Rover Vermillion from a Halfords rattlecan to replicate the colour of the interior of Dale's car. P1050989 by timothy jones, on Flickr At this point I thought I'd try the decals, so I painted the bonnet/hood and tried the Bass Pro Shops logo, which broke up into several pieces. 😒 As I had a spare set in the kit I coated the other sheet with some liquid decal film and, after giving it time to dry, I tried again. This time it sat in the water for half an hour before it decided to come off the paper.... in several pieces. 🙄 So now I've got an aftermarket set on the way from Mike's Decals in the US.
  7. I've added my vote as I picked up an Airfix Beaver at Telford over the weekend.
  8. That would be a Tragedy. 😄 At the moment four out of the six GBs that I voted for are above the line so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they get through.
  9. Time to drag this up from the depths of page three. So far I've got the basic hull together and assembled the base, which has been given a coat of grey from a Poundland rattlecan. P1050960 by timothy jones, on Flickr P1050961 by timothy jones, on Flickr It's gone together well so far so hopefully this'll be a quick build.
  10. This was built from the box but instead of using the supplied paints I used Tamiya Mica Red and black on the body and Hu62 Leather and satin black on the interior, which is very well detailed. Everything fitted well with no fettling or filler needed. P1050943 by timothy jones, on Flickr Modern hypercars and 1/43 scale aren't my usual go to subjects when it comes to car models but a new car kit from Airfix doesn't come along every day so I thought I'd see what it was like. I'm pleased that I did as it's an excellent kit and hopefully Airfix will add more to the range in future.
  11. It does mention on the side of the box that the kit includes a ''diorama plate with streetscape'' so there is a clue to its Matchbox origins.
  12. Off to a good start. I built one a few years ago, it's a nice kit even if it is rather basic. DSCF0147 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  13. I've also got one on the shelf of shame, a Richard Petty Pontiac Grand Prix which might make an appearance in this year's KUTA. DSCF9581 by timothy jones, on Flickr Back to the Chevy and work has commenced on the engine. I did think that I'd lost the sump and inlet manifold but they turned up a couple of days ago. P1050913 by timothy jones, on Flickr The lower front panel has been fitted to the body and blended in with some filler. P1050914 by timothy jones, on Flickr More soon.
  14. Great job so far Steve. Seeing yours come together might get me to finish the one I've had hanging around part built for more years than I care to remember.
  15. I will be putting it on the base. This boxing is from 2009 which, according to Scalemates, was the last time it was released and the only release in a Revell box. The previous release was in 1992 so it's not surprising that you don't see them too often.
  16. I'll be building the Revell reissue of the Matchbox Sd.Kfz. 251. Another Matchbox kit that I've never built, I'm looking forward to getting started. P1050917 by timothy jones, on Flickr P1050918 by timothy jones, on Flickr P1050919 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  17. It is one of the rarer Tom Daniel kits. Originally issued as the Trick T in 1970 it was modified and issued as the Stinger in 1975, which was the kit I built back in the late 70's. Since then it has only been reissued once in 1995, which is this boxing. With most of the TD toolings now owned by Atlantis maybe we'll see it again one day. Fortunately the front bodywork is removable so it won't be hidden all the time.
