  1. I've got a few in the stash that qualify for this so you can count me in. 🙂

  3. Nice work so far. The PE does look a lot better than the plastic parts.
  4. Wow, I wasn't expecting to see one of these in the GB. Good luck with the build, I'll be watching with interest.
  5. The tracks are fitted and the crew on board, although one seems to be making a hasty exit, so I'm calling this done. The tracks were a bit of a tight fit between the wheels and mudguards due to their thickness but I managed to squeeze them in. P1060247 by timothy jones, on Flickr More pictures in the Gallery.

  7. According to Scalemates this dates from 1983. 🤔 DSCF1874 by timothy jones, on Flickr In case you're wondering, it's a character rom the Ultraman TV series. 🙂

  9. I'm in. I've got several Jaguars, Ford Mustangs and Chevy Impalas in the stash.
  10. Since the last update the Hanomag has been given a coat of clear and the decals applied. P1060184 by timothy jones, on Flickr P1060187 by timothy jones, on Flickr After a coat of matt varnish I added the machine guns. P1060229 by timothy jones, on Flickr The missing wheel still hasn't been found despite a few searches so I thought I'd try to make a replacement. I remembered that a few years ago I was given a couple of Airfix RAF Emergency Sets, one of which had lot of parts missing and was only really useful for spares. I got a wheel from the kit and after reducing the diameter a little I thinned it down and chamfered the inside edge to make it fit inside the Hanomag's tyre. The final touch was a wheel hub made from a roof vent from the Emergency Set ambulance. While the end result isn't an exact replica of the kit part it's close enough. 11. Excellent build Stef, the weathering looks great. 👍
  12. Revell/Monogram 1/24 Dale Earnhardt Bass Pro Shops Chevy Monte Carlo. Dale Earnhardt was best known for his black Goodwrench sponsored cars but for the 1998 The Winston all star race at Charlotte Motor Speedway his car more a special one off livery of gold and black with additional sponsorship from Bass Pro Shops, a retailer of fishing, hunting and camping equipment. Unfortunately his race only lasted nine laps as, he crashed out after skidding on some fluid dropped by the car of Darrell Waltrip. 13. I knew about the bumping tactics but didn't know about the extra tubing being added, thanks for the info on that and the fire extinguisher. 🙂 After adding the rest of the decals and fitting the windows I got it finished today, just in time to qualify for the Gallery. This is the first NASCAR kit that I've finished since the mid 80's but I can see a few more being built in the future. P1060215 by timothy jones, on Flickr Here it is 'out on the track'. 🙂 P1060216 by timothy jones, on Flickr More pics in the Gallery. Thanks to @Col. and @Corsairfoxfouruncle for running the GB, there have been some colourful and unusual entries.
  14. Thanks @Col.. There ha been more progress over the past week or so. The dashboard, fire extinguisher and mirror were added to the roll cage. It does seem odd to have the fire extinguisher behind the seat as I'd have thought it would be better somewhere more accessible. P1060188 by timothy jones, on Flickr The engine and propshaft were added next, along with the exhausts. P1060209 by timothy jones, on Flickr Then the roll cage and radiator were fitted to the chassis to finish it off . P1060208 by timothy jones, on Flickr With only the body left to finish it was given a couple of coats of clear ready for the decals. As I said in my previous post the Power Slide decals are printed by Cartograf and so far have gone on without any problems. A few of them seem slightly bigger than the kit decals but not enough to really notice. P1060210 by timothy jones, on Flickr There are still a few more decals to add, a few paint touch ups to do and the windows to add so it should be finished before the Gallery closes. For now here's another mock up as it is now. P1060211 by timothy jones, on Flickr
  15. Nice to see this coming together and good to see that the decals went on without too much trouble.
