Hi, This is the first time me building an aircraft in 1/48 scale. I'm really impressed with the space for detailing, even this kit is very old and simple. I'm very satisfied with the final result. I wanted to be simple, without rivets, more panel lines or anything like that, just OOB. Decals are only from HobbyBoss kit. For me, this was good exercise for another Fresco in my collection! Hope you like this bird! Cheers, Nenad

MiG-25PD Condor 1/72 + resin cockpit
LanceR21 replied to LanceR21's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks! Well, I only had ( bad ) experience with this Condor kit ( built one with Soviet markings before ). ICM is much better, more details ( rivets, more panel lines, nice engraved ), parts and assembly is easier. Resin cockpit is from some Czech manufacturer, it's a copy, not original one. As far as I can remember, it cost 2-3 Euros. Cheers, Nenad -

Thank you guys! -
Hi guys, First, I wrote on Serbian, Cyrillic ( photos ) because of my local forum, Russian forums, picture editing took few hours... so, MiG-25PD Vasilkov Air Base, Ukraine 146. GvIAP year, 1995 My latest model, Condor MiG-25, 1/72. Good kit but not too fun to build, lots of putty, sanding, and steel nerves to complete this bird. At first place, I wanted to sell this kit but I realized that would be nice to have this plane on model shelf, so I took the challenge. OOB decals, resin cockpit and seat, raised re scribed panel lines. I was on the edge to throw this Condor in the bin, because I have some problems with paint and decals but fortunately, I managed to finish it. I experimented with pictures with black paper and effects, some pictures are good, some not, but it's OK to me. Now it's your turn, comments please! Cheers, Nenad

Hi, I did not paying much attention to details as I wanted to ( rivets, toned panels and other stuff ) because this model was not predicted to be for competitions, another plane took that purpose. Really like this one, I made it for my soul and JRV planes collection, it's very nice detail beside Sabre and Thunderjet. OOB kit, except BM Decals ( very enjoyable to work with them, you just need gloss surface and hot water ) and resin seat. Painted with Humbrol Metal 181, primed with black 21. I used Pronto for finish ( Pronto = European Future ) and for coating. Hope you like it. Cheers, Nenad

Hi guys, I started this Fishbed last year for campaign on my local forum. Few weeks ago something "catch" me to finish this bird. It will be clean and simple, without some fancy rivets, resin, PE parts or something... just for my soul and Yugoslavian jet collection. Cockpit... Only problem is spine ( if you look things that you can see not using technical drawings or something ) but with little sanding it will look like MF... Before silver I polished like madman, just in case, after sanding scratches are everywhere... :bandhead2: Gloss black... I'm very satisfied with Humbrol color because I was expecting horrible result, as I call it "orange surrface"... I painted few things more and it was ready for Pronto coat ( something like Future ) Hope you like it. Cheers, Nenad

Hi there, 2011... not much productive year for me, but I payed attention on quality and details in most. I like to assemble bad kits because there is a lot of space for testing new techniques (rescribing, riveting, fading paint, pre/post shading and other interesting stuff. We are learning things all the time, all life, but I'm planning to do better and quality kits in 2012... F-86 Sabre Academy 1/72, Yugoslavian Air Force: MiG-21Bis Condor 1/72, SR Yugoslavian Air Force: MiG-29B Italeri 1/72, SR Yugoslavian Air Force: MiG-15 Airfix 1/72, North Korean Air Force: Thanks for watching! Cheers, Nenad

Hi, Recently I finished this MiG. Airfix kit is not accurate at all but it was really funny to build one of these. I'm very satisfied with the final result. It took 1. place in competition in Belgrade last week, so that's one big + for me... You can see some In-Progress pictures here: http://www.krilapetrovgrada.org.rs/forum/i...php?topic=628.0 Hope you like it. And best friends together... Cheers, Nenad

Hi guys, I'm doing this Airfix kit just for fun and experimenting before some serious work on projects that are going to come for a few weeks. For the first time, I'm using PE parts in color, so it was difficult to me to mix the right cockpit color that Eduard gave. After 10-15 minutes of mixing I decided which tone to use... it's some kind of blue-grey, I don't even know how to describe on English... So that color liked to me and I sprayed it. Looks good on eye without lights and camera but I'm satisfied with the final result. No camouflaged MiG this time because I have some new Humbrol aluminum paint and want to try it. Beside Eduard PE parts, MiG will be fully riveted with Bulgarian communist roundels, blue 65 : Some pics... Sanding, riveting and other funny things for weekend, and more pictures, of course! Cheers, Nenad

Finally some progress... A few days ago, I was just watching whole kit and PE parts, and today I realized that kit is not going to assemble itself... So, cockpit is primed with Surfacer and before gloss painted with dark grey. Cockpit is 70% finished, but I'm very satisfied with the results. Looks good to me... Next time, more and better pictures, I promise! Cheers, Nenad

Don't look on the Wikipedia, there are many incorrect informations! I was 6 years old when my country was bombed, and I can tell you what's really happening at that time. I saw some terrible scenes that a grown man should not see, so you can imagine some scary little child like me watching that... or you can't... And those pictures will say in my head forever, unfortunately... But never mind, that is past and this is not a political forum, so enjoy in modeling! My next build is F-86 1/48 Academy with some PE parts... new pics and topic soon! Cheers, Nenad

This is one of 12 MiG's that were destroyed during NATO aggression in 1999 on SR Yugoslavia. Only 4 survived the attack and they are still flying, hopefully... It's dedicated to pilot Milenko Pavlović who was shot down on May 4th, 1999 over city Valjevo. Now, back to the kit... It's a great piece of plastic if you want to build it OOB, but correcting mistakes, it's a nightmare, if you want good looking 9-12. But I enjoyed building it because first of all this MiG have a war story and second... I just love this plane! I will make few more MiG's You can see whole work process here: http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air...p;#entry2112580 It's not 100% complete, missiles are missing and few antennas and navigation lights on the wings. I will post new and better pics, just to finish it completely... Cheers, Nenad

Thanks guys! Thank you. I used Humbrol 127 and a mix of Fulcrum Grey and Pale Green ( Model Master ). If you want to build 9-12 version, Italeri is not the best option, Airfix is the most accurate kit, but I can't find that kit for a long time. I never saw Hasegawa Fulcrum, so I can't compare with Italeri. How would I rate this kit from 1 to 10... well, if you want to build OOB kit, 8-9, but when you look at the drawings and see that you need to fix almost every single part on the model, 4-5 max... But that's just my opinion.

Yessss, MiG is painted, finally! I tried to simulate old SFRY flag on vertical wings and I'm satisfied with the result. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Nenad

Thank you all! I know, intake is very thin, but this Condor was just an experiment for some new techniques and paints. Next time will be better! Cheers, Nenad
