Hello guys, I can't get enough of HAF birds so, I started another one. Previously, I had some trouble with PM Model kit in 1/72 scale but it turned out great for me at the end. But this project will be a little bit harder. First of all, because of the scale - of course, F-5A is not big if I compare it with MiG-25/F-15 or something else. Second this kit is really bad - it comes with literally no cockpit at all, only with something that looks like an ejection seat that was designed and built by 10 year old's. Anyway, pictures will talk better than me, for sure. Gun bay will be opened, some electronics at the other side. I'm fully armed with patience and steel nerves. At the moment, everything looks just like this : And, yes, one question for all - where I can find Icarus decals for F-5A in 1/48 ? At least, stencils will do most of the work, probably 70%... thanks ! Seat was made from scratch with a little assistance from Italeri's F-4E ( which will also be in HAF markings ) And everything together : That's it for now, new update will be for a few months, I hope... Cheers, Nenad

Hi guys, Finished almost a year ago, but I've decided to take new pictures - definitely better that the first ones ! PM Model 1/72 scale, I gave my best to finish this bird under 3 weeks last summer and somehow, I did it. Complete re-scribing job on panels, add some rivets, full scratch in the cockpit, resin seat and clear parts from HB F-5. Decals are home-made variant and I know they're old because there's no name of company. Hope you like it and all the best ! Have a good day ! Cheers, Nenad

First, I would like to apologize for bad pictures... it's time for new camera, a real one, not from mobile phone. Just can't do it better right now... Great kit, I had really good time doing this one ! Hope you like it ! Cheers, Nenad

Right, I'm masochist when it comes to kits... But in the other hand, today's kits are boring and they should be called puzzles, everything is detailed and super precise... I just can't find anything exciting there. From time to time, I do quality kits, just to relax myself from projects like this... Scribing is really an easy job, you just need patience and steady hands and on the first place, good plan. Usually, I do that when parts are not glued yet in order to to some corrections if it's needed but I made an exception this time. First, you need to find good and precise blueprints in scale. The easiest way to scribe panel lines is to draw them first on the plastic and then do the job. You also asked how I translate positions of the lines from a drawing onto the model's surface - well, if everything is in scale and main parts are matching with your blueprints, then, I do it with a ruler by measuring the distance of each panel. Raised lines are useful if you are a beginner in scribing and it can definitely help you. I use to do that few years ago and it works. Cockpit is almost done... Cheers, Nenad -

Long time no see ! I really want to finish this little kit so it's time for some serious work ! -
Good evening to you guys ! Just a simple and fast build from me, well known Academy kit. Pictures are not the best, I know that, but can't do any better than this... Syrian Air Force, this aircraft was captured by FSA few months ago in Al-Tabqa Air Base, 2014... Hope you like it ! Cheers, Nenad

Thanks guys ! Small update, I just did basic stuff... next step - details ! Cheers, Nenad -
Hi guys ! This is going to be my first challenge for next year in modeling and only in one scale - 1/72, hoping that I'll finish every single kit in next period of the year... just can't start some kit, work on it for a while and stop... ( well, MiG-15 and F-84F will wait... ) Most of you had an opportunity to have one of those old ESCI/Italeri F-5A's, I just saw it on store shelf when I was a kid. Nowadays I can't find it even online... I really hope that Trumpeter/HobbyBoss will release new kits, the last case scenario will be buying a new Wolfpack (... old ESCI... ?! ) Once in a while, I love to be masochist, doing simple and ruff kits, like this one for example - scratch-building and scribing panel lines, that's what i love to do ! :woot.gif: Kopro/KP kits are not good, but this is more like a chump ! Only aftermarket thing here will be an ejection seat and decals. There is no such a thing as a cockpit in this box, only two "pipes", holding the seat, which looks like two wooden boards glued together... there is nothing I can do - just make a cockpit ! I mean, how hard can it be... Greek aircrafts - I love them ! Choosing between camouflaged version, "Aegean blue" and NMF was not an easy job for me, 'cause they are all great - want to have them all ! I realized that this kit is not going to be like Tamiya/Hasegawa, so I decided to be "Aegean blue" - it's also a great painting and tehnique practice ! This is how it looks now... See you soon !

Wow, thanks folks ! I really appreciate your comments ! Thanks Snitok ! Not yet but I will post there also, soon... ! The MiG you mentioned was posted few years ago with Soviet markings and two red stripes... I know that one, It's really great ! It's same kit, Mastercraft...

Hi guys ! Worst kit I ever made ! Old Mastercraft mold based on KP with rescribed panel lines. Well, that's double trouble ! Need to rescribe everything again, joints are horrible... this kit took 3 years from me, lack of motivation was the main problem. I manage to finish it because I wanted this MiG sooo hard in my collection and... I finally did it ! Decals are from KP, I add only resin cockpit with some PE parts from Extratech, colours are Revell 90 and Humbrol 56. Hope you like it ! Cheers, Nenad

MiG-15 Bulgarian Air Force - 1950's
LanceR21 replied to LanceR21's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Good evening to everyone ! The smaller the kit - the bigger problems you have, when it comes to opening electronic/mechanic bays ! Those few things took me whole day but I manage to finish it... accidentally I removed more plastic then I should but luckily I fixed it. Maybe I'll open the gun bay, what do you guys think ? Cheers, Nenad -
MiG-15 Bulgarian Air Force - 1950's

Thanks guys ! Some update, Lack of creativity for writing on English - as you can see in all my post here, I prefer to make pictures more interesting for you and myself, just love to spend time editing pictures even I'm busy during the day, college kills me... As expected, dry fitting is one of the best things when we are talking about Eduard - just perfect ! I hope everything will be the same with the rest... I gave my best to copy real details from real aircraft, I had good references ! See you soon ! Cheers, Nenad -
Hi folks, Last year I went with "empty hands", on biggest model show in Serbia - New Year's Cup... but this year, it will be different, hope so... Having few Eduard Fagot's ( Weekend edition ), I realized that's much better to give few pounds more for Profi Pack because of PE parts and paint masks, useful things that save time - decal sheet is amazing and I will use all markings in future projects. It's hard for me to find Bulgarian decals, communist one, but I had luck with KP sheer from MiG-15 and now, that kit is just for spare parts... maybe I'll finish it someday ! Eduard did great job, what else I can say ! More W.I.P. pictures soon ! Cheers, Nenad

Hi to you all ! Long time no see - I completely forgot to post pictures of my finished kits on forums so let's start again ! Zvezda, 1/72... this kit means to me a lot because Zvezda is not making those anymore. I gave this model to my girlfriend 2 years ago and she hasn't more space now in her room ( I gave 5-6 kits to her ) so I had to choose one to carry back home. And here it is now, completely restored with Pavla resin copy cockpit. Panel lines are rescribed and some rivets are there too ! I used Revell 90 and Humbrol 56, just to experiment. I did this for myself and collection... next one will be with Bulgarian markings, brother, 2 years older... Cheers, Nenad

Hi guys, Finished long time ago, I finally find some time to take pictures ! OOB, I only add rivets and some panel lines... Thanks for watching ! Cheers, Nenad

Hi guys, long time no see ! This is something that I started months ago, to be more precise, last summer. My airbrush was broken and unable to find spare parts, I had to wait some time. I switched to another project ( MiG-21 Bis, I will also post pictures ) and I completely forgot about this one. So few weeks ago, I decided to finish this beautiful kit ( it's amazing, like Great Wall Hobby made it ). It will definitely be with Greek camouflage with special scheme, much different that standard British one... Sorry for my Tarzan English, at least the photos are good, I think... And that's it for now ! New pictures soon ! P.S. Does anybody have blueprints with rivets for this aircraft ? Thanks ! Cheers, Nenad

Hi guys, long time no see...! I decided to build one simple model, which will take me not too much time and effort, so I started an F-84G from HobbyBoss, 1/72 scale. I was kinda' disappointed when I opened the box and saw details from close range... nothing was precise, like curvy panel lines, some of them were deep, some of them were shallow... in my opinion, details are so unbalanced... company probably tried to copy Tamiya or well known Academy kit in order to make great kit for low price... If you are asking me, they failed, hard... So I made myself double job, sanding panel lines and scribing them again... that was important to me because aircraft is painted in silver, Humrol metal paint, 27001. Firs, I sprayed goss black and surface was good, so I gave myself green light to move foward... Decals are from Lift Here, some kind mixture of old and new printed markings ( newer are much better, because of thin decal film ), hot water is enough to apply them very well... Hope you like it, if you have some questions, "shoot"! And one with the "gang"... Hope you like it! Cheers, Nenad

Hi, This is probably one of the best kits I ever had in my hands! But unfortunately, I didn't paid much attention to details this time... At the first place, I did this model for myself, just to relax for what is coming next, probably some slow and very detailed project... anyways... Revell paints, mixed with white and grey to get correct shades, not 100% but close to that. I also open electronic bay, scratch built from zero... nice little detail, just to "kill" that big non-attractive fat spine... Camouflage is freehand, washed with Promodeller pigments, OOB decals... for gloss surfaces, I used Pronto, wax for wooden floors, something like well known Future, Model Master matt coat for finish. Hope you like it!
-
Thanks guys! I add only resin cockpit and seat, I think it's copy of Aires or so... Well in my opinion, this is by far the best 9-13 on the market, currently ( better than Condor of course )... we can expect 9-12 from Airfix, hoping it's a new tool... but the old one is good to, I need to find that kit! i recommend this ICM kit, it's nice and fun to build... Cheers, Nenad

A friend of mine gave me this kit in very poor condition, painted in Strizi camouflage. Parts were all glued badly, also painted... so I decided to restore this kit. First, I disassemble whole kit and put it all together again, paying attention to joints and panel lines. Few weeks of work to get this MiG to the painting process... colors are Humbrol and Mr. Color, decals from the box and aftermarket, mix of both... Hope you like it! Cheers, Nenad
-
Hi, This kit is maybe beautiful in box, but when I started... pure disappointment! It's Trumpeter, 1/144 scale, and in some point, I expected to be good but unfortunately, no... Anyway, it's OOB, original was K-10 with radar, USSR markings only... you need a little bit effort and time to convert in K-26, all parts for that version are in the box. Colors are Mr. Color, some aftermarket decals... Hope you like it! Cheers, Nenad
