Some welcome reboxings with a few brand new kits. On the whole a fairly cautious release schedule for 2020. Will the Beaufort be a big seller for Airfix? Whatever our initial thoughts to this list I hope the mix of some old and new releases is a success for Airfix this year (because they certainly need a good year of sales again). Paul.

AMK 1:48 Super Etendard - on hold. Do you still want it?
ZK302 replied to Mike's topic in The Rumourmonger
I have yet to buy a Super E in 1/48 and having bought several AMK kits recently whose quality has been well documented on this forum I will definitely buy 2 new kits. regards Paul -
Hi Jon, Looking at my ModelDecal set although the writing is extremely small I too can just make out the letters 'UNK' numbered 28. As for numbers 26 and 27 these zaps are even harder to make out, but my best guess is 'Art by the 43F Quartet' . Can anyone confirm this is correct? best Paul

Afternoon all, Anyone got a photo of the front and rear nozzles for the Harrier GR 7/9's which show the interior vanes. I'me looking to improve this area on the Airfix 1/72 scale kit. Many thanks in advance. By the way (and as others have said before) the kit is an absolute beauty. The recessed panel lines are maybe a touch too deep but the overall detail on many of the smaller parts such as cockpit area and undercarriage is superb. Its also interesting to compare common/similiar parts with the companys earlier produced SHARS to see how much Airfix have improved... regards paul

Many thanks for all the comments so far. In some ways you have confirmed my initial thoughts, in that what seems like a simple question results in some uncertainty and that despite the Spitfire being such a popular subject there are still some areas where we are lacking definitive information. Which makes the hobby so frustrating - or should that be fascinating! My own feelings after reading your posts is that black is a possibility - somehow it 'feels' right especially for the period (1950's), so unless further info comes to light I'll go with black. Once again thanks for your prompt replies, paul

Evening, I'me just putting the Airfix 1/72 scale Spitfire XlX together. It will be finished as PS888 which I believe flew the last RAF Spitfire operation in 1954. Can someone confirm the interior colour please for this aircraft only I have some conflicting references. Firstly Airfix instructions advise '78' cockpit green. Secondly the Modellers Datafile on Griffon powered Spitfires shows a colour photo on page 103 in black and notes, "that the PR MK XlX is painted black in this area". However I'me not sure if we are looking at a restored example here or an original?? Meanwhile on page 61 and 62 some colour artwork from the same book shows the area as interior green!! Leaving me quite confused... Any advice greatly appreciated. regards, Paul

Very neat finish - (as ever!) on a great looking aircraft Andrew. Look forward to seeing it 'in the plastic' at the next club meet? - arctic weather permitting... Smart looking B.2 too! paul.

Just checked Freightdogs resin update set and something looks different! The rear fin bullet is shorter than the Airfix kit part - whether its suitable for your S2D I don't know though. http://www.freightdogmodels.co.uk/product_...69ac616601f8c5c As I said lastnight at the club meet I'me going to the Nationals on Sunday... so do you want the set from Freightdog? regards paul

hi mark, lovely work so far on your Heinkel. regarding the internal colours for the bomb bay area... from the Aero Detail 18 book (He111P -2 W.Nr 1526 Norwegian Armed Forces Museum) I can see the bomb racks appear to be dark grey ie rlm 66, whilst the surrounding side walls are a much lighter grey - presumably rlm 02. regards paul

hi Graham, saw this Polish jet last year. missile set up on both wings, centreline fuel tank and a sniper pod completes the war load. central pylon on port wing carries a baggage? pod - starboard pylon was unoccupied. how would you rate the Kinetic kit? I have several hasegawa F-16s and wondered how these new kits compare... regards paul AVI_5110 by 3typhoon, on Flickr AVI_4766 by 3typhoon, on Flickr

Evening all, Quick question. I have a pack of Aeroclub white metal ejection seats in 1/72 scale, product number EJ006. Can someone tell me which type of seats they are and for which aircraft they are suitable? Many thanks, ZK302

Your spitfire model and article brought back many happy memories. I started modelling in the early 70's and remember buying airfix (bagged) series 1 kits for 18p with my pocketmoney from the local newsagents. Then I would build the kit within a day or 2 and add the transfers without painting (just as you have done). I think if my memory is correct the tube glue of the time was called 'cement' and it was a challenge to glue the canopy neatly! No concerns with join lines, Federal Standard paint matches or the shape issues with the Hobby Boss Tornado... Along with trips to Finningley for the annual Battle of Britain airshows in September and I've been interested in all aspects of military aviation ever since... regards ZK302

good afternoon, Ages ago (ok, I admit it very many moons have passed!) I built the Hasegawa Froxbat. Now at the time it was the only Foxbat in town, however nowadays I notice there are quite a few kit possibilities eg ICM, Condor, Kitech etc. So which is generally regarded as the most accurate/detailed Mikoyan MIG 25 FOXBAT in 1/72? Which to steer well away? How does the original kit from the far eastern manufacture compare to the more recent representations from our near east manufacturers? regards ZK302.

Good afternoon, Airfix kit progressing nicely thanks to Mr Surfacer! (see photo below). Can someone just confirm the colours for the under carriage bays etc (areas indicated by arrows) is white/off white? I note the replacement nose cone from Pavla Models (PAVU72122) is selling well at a certain Suffolk model shop... Anyone got one and is it recommended? The Airfix nose cone does look wrong somehow... regards ZK302. Airfix shar u/s by 3typhoon, on Flickr
