Brought my camera to work on the 27th March 2007 as Airbus was bringing an A380 to Filton for some trials, snapped a few more visitors too.
Although Filton is a big airfield, manoeuvring space is limited, after landing F-WWDD is too big to taxi so had to be towed to its parking are on the North side.
Did get to go inside it the following day brought my camera but had left the memory card at home....duh
Regular visitor was A319 D-APAA 'The air bridge' a daily weekday shuttle service for Airbus to Toulouse.
Another regular visitor was my bit the Jetstream that went back n forth to Hawarden 3 times a day.
As well as the manufacturing operation Filton was home to quite a few light aircraft, in the North side hangers was a P51 Mustang and a spitfire being rebuilt (Crashed at Woodford) and also had the police helicopter based there.
Hope you find these interesting
CT
Thanks

Some superb diorama ideas here from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, commonly known as The Boneyard, where the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) takes care of disused warplanes and fighter jets.
Go to the Bird's Eye tab, zoom in, rotate for some stunning views.

Great builds. Congrats!

Awesome. I like your comments about building kits to different 'standards'. The most important element is enjoyment, other things can follow. Love the look of the colour scheme.

Hey bristol boy, thanks for the reference to 'The Book of Bristol Aircraft', a copy of which has arrived in my hands today by way of the good offices of Amazon. What an amazing read, fantastic!. I am a Filton exile living in Wolverhampton and am currently building a series of aircraft associated with Filton, particularly from the 1960s and '70s in 1/144 scale. The closure of the airfield and general nostalgia have fostered an interest in all things aviation at Filton, this book will further that interest! Thanks again. ps Yours ia a fascinating project.

Love the look of this. Not bad for aircraft you're 'not best mates with'!
