  1. Eduard 1/48 Hellcat II Build thread here ; http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234943873-eduard-hellcat-mk-ii-148/page-3#entry1413018
  2. Got some decent daylight: Rest in the gallery.
  3. Nice. Built this myself and its a lovely little kit.
  4. Made a start on the Arado. Going for "representative" on the detail, rather than prototypical.
  5. Finished! Waiting for the pva to dry on the ID lights and will do some decent pictures for the gallery. Loved building this kit.
  6. Much older. The AC 47 was a reissue with extra parts sprues. The original had Silver City Airways and USAAC markings.
  7. This could also be the "Kits you first built before you could shave" Group Build. Ahh! The nostalgia...
  8. I remember the article in Scale Models about accurising the Defiant. They used a Spitfire nose and lots of card and filler. Brave man.
  9. Havd one in the stash. Must get it out sometime.
  10. Be glad youy got a seat. Some of the early Airfix just had pegs.
  11. Thats a classic kit, the double canopy version. Didn't they do a chromed one as well? Interesting the pilot is a straight copy of the contemporary Airfix one.
  12. Had a bit of a disaster with the matt varnish. Recovered, and looks a bit like salt staining. Nice kit. 1/144 Liberator for size comparison.
  13. Defo original Airfix. Standard Airfix pilots and who else did oversize "working hinges" like that? Raised detail is quite restrained, apart fom fabric sag on rear fuselage: Seen less prominent ribs on a supermodel
  14. How about a Buccaneer? Foldy wings make it storeable and lots of differnet colour schemes.
  15. Remember you need hairy black thread from your Mums sewing box for the ariels.
  16. I built the Israeli version from the "Dogfight Doubles" boxing. It had a delta wing and a pointy nose, what more do you want when you're 10?
  17. Might put some framing in the Arado fuselage. Detail isn't to bad. Will loose the horrible "working" control surfaces at the very least. Engine would benefir from a bit of work too. Considering trying to crash mould a new canopy. Has a decal instrument panel, what happened to the good old cut out printed one? Canberra needs some lumps and bumps. Fin fairing is most noticeable abscence. Loving this build, so many kits that were cutting edge in my youth. The nostalgia is solid enough to slice
  18. Both, with tube cement Left a nasty seam down the central dome/blister. The glazing lines were also pretty vague.
