Latest build is a Tornado F3 from XI Sqn. Configuration from Gulf War 2 as requested by the back-seater.. As ever all comments welcome. Sweaty

Des I used the kit decals, apart from the fin decals which I made using white Crafty computer paper (https://www.craftycomputerpaper.co.uk/inkjet-water-slide-decal-paper/).. They were all applied with Micro Set onto the model which was sprayed with a layer of Clear. When dried applied a further layer of clear. Regards Sweaty

Ben underwing markings gone already. Don’t think I’ll change the cockpit. Seem to remember it being pretty dark in the 800 or so hours I flew in the boot😀

I think the Airfix kit comes with 63 and 74 Sqn markings. I used Model Alliance decal for the 100 Sqn details. Sweaty

Ben Yes had to rescribe the front fuselage and intake tops following filling and sanding of mismatched parts.

Just finished Airfix Tornado F3. Challenging fit to some components. Eduard cockpit detailing helps. I thought the 67 wing was most appropriate on this 'flying' model. And one under construction Thanks for looking. Sweaty

Airfix 1/48 Hawker Hurricane Mk.I - 56 Sqn

Great example of US-Z well done I wrote this a while ago for my US-Z Jumbo Gracie US-Z Flt Lt Edward J. 'Jumbo' Gracie flew with No 56 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. On the 10th of July 1940 his Hurricane was damaged in combat with some Bf 110's and he crash landed with a seized engine at Manston. He destroyed four enemy aircraft before the 8th of August 1940, and a further three before the 30th of August 1940. On the 30th of August 1940 he destroyed a Heinkel He 111 but was himself shot down at 16:45hrs, crash-landing his Hurricane I (R2689). He thought himself unhurt but next day discovered he had a broken neck, requiring admission to hospital! Gracie was awarded the D.F.C. on the 1st of October 1940. He scored six more kills flying from Malta. E.J.Gracie later flew Mosquito's on night escort for R.A.F. heavy bombers. E.J.Gracie was K.I.A. on the 15th of February 1944, aged 32. -

Vinnie The wings on the second model were decals supplied in the kit by Eduard. I don't think i could manage that effect. Sweaty

Thank for the comments. Harold55 the rigging is 0.05mm fishing filament. The turn buckles are eyelets from https://bobsbuckles.co.uk. The technique using 1mm lengths of 0.5mm tubing is shown there. All painted with Revell acrylic steel when finished. Thanks for looking. Sweaty
