  1. Both look good so far Gary, crack on with them
  2. Just the engines from a modellers point of view if I recall, think it ment the rear fuselage was the same length as the GR-1 while the F3 was longer there too. Could be talking total crap though. While I'm sure the 32nd scale kit would make for an impressive finished article I'm not sure I'm ready for another long-term basket-case project. Anyone know if it's generally accurate? Detail jobs I don't mind but I'm in no mood for anything requiring major surgery.
  3. 'Tis a very nice Cranberry you have there Geoff. Dunno whether to get the CA kit or wait until the Airfix one appears now.
  4. See Hasegawa is about to release a new pressing of this one with Op Granby decals. When you say 'not-very-good' are we talking needs a bit of work, major surgery or just forget it?
  5. Anyone know if they were any good? Seems every other kit review I've read of the F3 mentions varying degrees of inaccuracy.
  6. Maybe so, but at least I still work on it now and again. So nah na na na nah In fact I think I'll get off this computer and have a crack at moulding the canopy since I've got the day off.
  7. Aww, such a shame for you having to put up with all that embarrassing praise. How can you cope. Never mind, you could always lock the topic if it gets too much for you. Or perhaps finish another of your on-going projects, which will have the added bonus of me not being able to take the piddle at every available oportunity Bet I finish the Firefly before you finish the you-know-what
  8. I think it was something discussed on ARC a while back, perhaps Cleveland Resin? Bet I've spelt that wrong. Anyway, I read on here they had gone bust and there was some discussion about it on the Large Scale Planes forum. Hope that helps, sorry to be the bearer of bad news. BTW, didn't Revell have an F-3 kit out for a while?
  9. Dunno if that's such a bad thing Bill, the chap who owns my LMS has a big cabinet full of his built models and it looks really good. Every time I look into it I'm tempted to buy Tamiya 32nd F-16, which is saying something as I hate bloody F-16s! Just like every time I re-visit this thread I'm tempted to nip into town and get one of Trumpeter's Sea Hawks, even though the last thing I need is another kit to distract me from my current projects
  10. Yes yes, it's wonderful, now can we all please stop kissing his bottom so he goes of and finishes something else BTW Mike, please note I resisted the temptation to mention any large British 60s bombers in particular for fear of having it go on a 'deep penetration' mission with a difference
  11. That's a bit different from the norm, nice work Liam
  12. Either that or start visiting different websites :whistling:
  13. Dunno but I'd bet they ain't tried to build the bloody 48th SHAR either Why bother mate, it's happening on this thread as it is!
  14. After taking Mike's advice and turning the heat gun on some thin clear sheet I've finally got a usable rear canopy With any luck the same method will produce a front canopy tomorrow I'm also toying with the idea of finishing her as the RN Historic Flight's preserved example as opposed to the service machine. This means I can avoid scratch-building the remaining radio gear for the rear 'pit and the gun-sight for the front, although I will have to do some repainting of small cockpit details and make various extra parts such as aerials, the radio that sits where the gun-sight would have gone and a more complicated seat harness.
  15. Said the man about to build an extention to house all his!?!
  16. You ever been in Inverurie on a Saturday night? There ain't a lot of anything nice going about. Unusual yes, but none of it nice
  17. Nice to see another unusual build on here, looks good so far Pete. Good luck with the canopy.
  18. Haven't come across this before, thanks for sharing Tim.
  19. There's a load chart in the Detail & Scale volume on the F-4E/F/G but I don't have it to hand right now. If no-one else can help I'll try to dig it out and scan the relevent pages.
  20. Wasn't one of the development aircraft painted overall black?
  21. Cracking work David, recall you talking about this one before in another place and glad to see her take shape here.
  22. That looks bloody good mate, nice to see unusual markings on such a commonly modelled aircraft.
  23. Fair enough, that's XX962/X with a very small lass carrying a Crusader's shield and sword. Either that or XX748/U The Fat Slag's?
  24. OK Jag fans, here's my offer. I've got Xtradecal's Gulf Special sheets 1, 2 & 3. All contain decals for various 72nd GR-1s, namely; XX962/X XX748/U XZ375/S XZ364/Q XZ118/Y XX733/R The printing isn't the greatest I've seen and most are simply the relevant nose art and codes, so you will need roundels and other details from a seperate source. If, however, anyone wants a particular aircraft for the GB let me know and I'll send you the relevant parts and a copy of what little instructions came with them free on the condition you at least try to make use of them during the GB. First come, first served. One each. That seem fair? *Edit* Oh, and Hatchet get's first choice 'cause he asked before anyone
