  1. You are doing a cracking job on this one Karl. Will look great next to your Hunter.
  2. Still hope to be part of this one with a 48th scale Airfix Hawker Fury. Lacking my own computer at the moment means I can't make any meaningful contributions to GBs or my own ongoing projects but with any luck this situation will improve before the start date.
  3. Seeing it on the club table last night was rather impressive. Nice work Steve.
  4. Stunning work and very realistic Haris. The covers are great and I'm sure a few of us will be copying your technique in the future.
  5. Was the Academy kit not announced shortly before the Trumpeter kit appeared? Perhaps they decided to shelve it thinking Trumpeter had cornered the market only to resurrect the project upon realising what a mess they made of it.
  6. The prop's natural metal section has a very realistic finish to it Tony. This one seems to have gone together very smoothly so be interesting to compare with your other thread covering the Ark kit and see the two finished models together.

    Mosquito

Very nice Terry, glad you decided to finish this one after so long, may I ask what caused you to take a break from it? Particularly impressed by how the cloudscape is well rendered yet does not distract attention from the main subject.
  8. That was quick Dave! Although the quality of paintwork and finish certainly looks top notch so one would never guess she went together so fast.
  9. There is certainly a considerable depth of knowledge here when it comes to the Lightning.
  10. Cracking choice of subject Tony. Always liked how the MiG-3 looked so will try to follow your progress when I can.
  11. Nicely done, good to see one in another scheme from those in the box, your brushwork looks flawless as well.
  12. Very nice! Fine work to both detail and finish this one so realistically. Always liked the Viggen and it's unique paint scheme so it was a treat to see this.
  13. Lovely work on the trolly so far Oliver. The extra items such as this will add a great deal to your final result.
  14. Interesting thread but so far only Radleigh has been courteous enough to actually post some pictures of any Spitfires to answer the original request and reason for this thread in the first place. Perhaps any further discussion would benefit from evidence to support the assertions being made?
  15. Getting caught up with your progress over the last couple of months Bill. Great job capturing the stance of a Lightning regardless of Trumpeter's attempts. Take it the airbrakes open/flaps down/nosewheel deflected means we will see a pilot in the 'pit? Never enough crew in modern kits these days for my liking.
  16. Missed your progress on this one for the last couple months due to a dead computer but clearly keeping the same high quality of work Radleigh. Glad to see your GF hasn't been distracting you too much
  17. Think this is the first Tamiya 32nd Mk. XVI I've seen finished and it looks lovely. You have made an excellent and inspiring job there.
  18. Although I'm no expert on the type it certainly captures the look of the MiG-17 to me. Very nice work Martin. Was it a straightforward kit to build or are there any issues to be aware of?
  19. Ooh that's very nice. What colour did you use since no-one answered the question?
  20. What a nice postscript to your work. Thanks for sharing the message.

    Airfix 2012

Hmm, seems Airfix are not too fussy about artwork accuracy these days, didn't stop me wanting at least two of their new A6M2 Zero though... Shame the 48th Harrier & SHAR were not new tools but at least the two SHAR under my bench are not outdated yet. Nice artwork for them as well! Wonder if the SHAR 2 will appear? Understand what you mean about the kits being a bit more 'involved' if you want to get a highly detailed replica Bill but equaly they can be built up as the mould-maker intended if you are happy with what is provided. Sure there is a thread here showing what you've done to at least one of them that I'll use as inspiration when the time comes. See the Trumpeter new release thread hasn't attracted a 'there's nothing here for me and it's a disaster as they'll not get any of my money therefore go bust!' comment yet.
  22. Always a pleasure to see your progress on these Eric, as was the case on the other BoB film machines, you are a brave man modifying the canopies but clearly have the touch required to carry it through.
  23. While the risk of repeating one of the superlatives you are about to hear many times and come so richly deserved I can't help it - that is stunning Howard. A true inspiration for those building any of the Swordfish kits available. Watching your progress certainly alluded to the superiour quality of finish this model was going to display and this is no disapointment. Very realistic.
  24. While not my normal sphere of interest the history layed forth in your first post had me hooked and your work on the first two components prove this will be stunning. Hopefully catch your regular Sunday episodes.
