  1. Nice progress Mark and agree with you on the extra work to fit some PE parts being wasted if they don't add much to the overall effect in comparison with the molded plastic. Hope you're getting some decent results at the races. The time trial season is due to begin in a fortnight here in north east Scotland but there's still plenty snow on the ground and that's led to the first road races being cancelled.
  2. Another project Steve? I'm sure @Toryu will approve
  3. I'm of the Attach then Mask school as well; allows for any filling and blending work, avoids glue creep under the masks, and means I'm less likely to crack the canopy through rough handling.
  4. Taking shape nicely. Seeing it beside the Typhoon gives a good illustration of how big an aircraft the Viggen is.
  5. Starting a kit the moment you get it home? Just like when we were young
  6. Nice work Jon. Given that I know nothing about landing craft operations and the Normandy landings in particular I can't pass comment on the accuracy of your depiction and even if I did I'd personally rather simply enjoy your finished diorama as a nice model. Just as there's various styles in the artistic world I'm of the opinion there's room for different styles and a degree of artistic licence within our particular art. So long as you've enjoyed creating your model all other opinions are secondary so I'll repeat that opening statement - nice work Jon.
  7. Wow. I can't think of any other comment to make than that. Stunning work Ray.
  8. There's something deeply satisfying about seeing wood worked so well. That's not a euphemism you mucky minded lot!
  9. Your dislike of white hasn't affected the quality of your paintwork; looks smooth and solid.
  10. PPP does give you the option to wipe away with a wet cloth or cotton bud rather than my more medieval method of Humbrol filler and sanding
  11. Happy Birthday Dave Nice progress on the Skyhawk.
  12. For my own PR.I Spitfire projects I found filling the panel lines and giving them a light rub down before the filler had fully cured was enough to leave a hint that showed through the paint as a slightly different surface texture.
  13. Nice work George. Did you find an answer to your blub/light question?
  14. If your Costa Rican P-51 is anything to go by you'll do a grand job of representing the overpainted roundel on your Spit
  15. Seeing the tailplane juxtaposed with your 190 give a good impression of just how big large MASSIVE this machine was
  16. While your FV is well beyond the 25% progress point I'd still like to watch your continuing work on it. If you want to open a thread here all I ask is you post the finished article in the Inspiration Gallery rather than the Gallery. Sounds as if you know a cure for that lack
  17. With hoverbike looking so cool I'm really looking forward to see what you do for the rider.
  18. While on Facebook take a look for the Sandy's Spitfire page as well Mark
  19. Nice start Gavin and I like your solution to the overly thick 'winder fins
