UV Curing Adhesive - Any thoughts/experience?
Jinxman replied to Caution Wake Turbulence's topic in Other Tools
hi Andrew, Last time I paid for some it was about €7 for the resin - I already had the uv light. (Bauhaus want €7.95 for the resin now). A friend in Germany got it for me so there was no postage. The starter set is an ok way of doing it, however I only use the resin and light. I use rubbing alcohol to clean a part before application which I already have the shelf. As an example of its usefulness I was trying for ages to get a sharp, correctly shaped edge to my 1/72 Heller Draken wingtips, and everything I tried broke off again. With the Bondic the problem has been solved, (though the Draken remains firmly on the shelf of doom). The beauty of it is within five seconds of applying the light its cured and ready to work on. On the other side of the coin the 5 minute two part epoxy from Poundland dries clear and works very nicely as well... cheers -
UV Curing Adhesive - Any thoughts/experience?

I've been using Bondic for a couple of years now - I get mine from Bauhaus in Germany, not sure if there are any UK suppliers. For fine repair work on wingtips and for things like landing light lenses it is superb - you can sand and polish it within an inch of its life - its keeps its strength and doesn't detach from the base plastic like some other stuff. Bondic dries clear as well. Links are here; http://notaglue.com http://www.bondic.de/index.php?id=107 -
hi, A few shots bagged on the 4Aviation tour during the review at Hyakuri AB - some different types and as always thanks for looking, and hope you like 'em, cheers..

Great stuff - can't wait to see her in the flesh..

hi All, Thanks for the very kind comments - I'm glad you like 'em, and more to come when I finish off the plumbing! hi Jeffrey - the shots were all taken on my trusty old Nikon D2Xs & 500mm F4. cheers

Some real beauties in there, they appear to be very well looked after. Another museum added to the "to do" list! cheers

Definitely the good old days - great aircraft, clear skies, and an old Transit as a crew bus rather than the Jags and Range Rovers of recent years! Thanks for sharing, and more please!

These look great - beautiful aeroplanes, and well executed - thanks for sharing.

Hi All, More from the 4Aviation trip to Japan - second day spent here, good weather again and the local spotters and enthusiasts looked after us with local oranges, nice shaded seating during the lunch break and fantastic stories. Can't forget the ATC guy who was 78 and looked no more than 55. Hope you like 'em..

Thanks for you appreciative comments - the amount of movements we saw whilst in Japan blew me away - so much going on compared to what we see in Europe, and so plenty of opportunities to click away. hi Snitok - the large antennae are communications devices, (I think), they are stationary and they were also at Hyakuri - perhaps someone else knows different? hi Jeffrey - we were very lucky with the weather, we had a couple of very English weather type days, however we were travelling and so it didn't really matter. cheers

Thanks again for the kind comments - the Aggressors are a bit like marmite - more to come later on.. cheers

hi All, More bagged whilst on a 4Aviation trip - hot and hazy on the day, and once again a very warm welcome from the regulars on the fence. Hope you like 'em and thanks for looking in..

Thanks for the kind comments - more F15s and other goodies on the way once I get around to processing them - the number of movements at the bases we visited made the European stuff I normally see look a little weak to say the least. Houston - be my guest with the screen saver - PM on its way. cheers..

Thanks for the comments - I have a few more civils from Japan that I'll post once I have had time to get through the processing, cheers..

Great motion blur on some of these - very nicely done, cheers

hi All, I bagged these whilst on a 4Aviation trip - wet and windy on the day, but made more comfortable by the very friendly local enthusiasts. Hope you like 'em and thanks for looking in..

Hi All, Here are a few shots from Naha - a bit hazy, but hopefully something you might find interesting, cheers [/url]

Thanks again for the kind comments, Jonny - the kit used was a Nikon D2Xs and a 500mm F4 lens. The lens is probably a bit too much reach for Old Warden, but it lets you get some of the tighter shots when the aircraft are turning into the display for the crowd, cheers

Lovely selection of stuff - off to Japan for a couple of weeks soon and hopefully I'll have the chance to get some shots, cheers

Exercise "Joint Warrior" 14-2 week 1 RAF Lossiemouth
Jinxman replied to Takamota's topic in Aviation Photography
Beautiful shots - lovely colours and contrast. I am dropping the lad off tomorrow for his posting with the Met Office - is it worth staying over to see what is going on Monday the 13th? Any advice appreciated, (it would be rude to travel all that way and not get a couple of shots!), Is the viewing info on Thunder & Lightnings still valid? cheers -

Heads up for anyone interested that the Centre will be open to the general public for a week, conveniently just after the IPMS Nationals at Telford for anyone who is in the area. £5 entry which I can't remember paying previously, but it is for a good cause.
