  1. Thanks for the very kind comments - only one mor eday from the trip to come and that was Hyakuri, which will get posted this weekend hopefully, cheers
  2. The b&w shot is great, very realistic - even the shut gaps on the bonnet are accurate!
  3. Lovely stuff - the Canberra and Merryfield shots really hit the mark - thanks for sharing..
  4. Great work - it looks fantastic..
  5. hi all, Iruma AB opened its doors to what was reported to be over 250,000 people on 3/11 - thankfully we bagged a spot on the crowd line after some brisk jogging once the starting whistle had been blown! Here are some of the shots taken on a day with fairly good weather, thanks for looking in..
  6. Great work and photography - thanks for sharing..
  7. Just shows how close to genius the original series was - you have to feel a little sorry for the team trying to put this together when the competition is Gerry & Co.
  8. Lovely set of shots - thanks for sharing..
  9. Hi all, Second day at Misawa - weather was good, and a bit quieter than the previous day, so we popped to the museum on the other side of the base at Aomori which was very good. I hope you enjoy the pics and thanks for looking in, cheers
  10. I'm with Tank152 on this one - I always find Mr DP too soft for my liking..
  11. ...which is one of the issues I have with the Airfix Canberra I am stalled on at the moment. I have spent time toning down the panel line effect, however I would probably have been better off filling everything and rescribing. I suppose kit manufacturers know their markets though and they provide what the majority look for? Perhaps I own rose-tinted spectacles, but I am sure some Hasegawa/Otaki/etc kits from thirty years ago had beautifully refined panel lines and they have got less refined in some cases since then.
  12. Thanks for the appreciative comments - once again there was plenty of action going on so there were lots of opportunities. hi Paul, re. the methodology, it follows on from what my photography mentor taught me - use the best prime lens you can afford, shoot it wide open and practice a lot, and then practice some more. With the Japanese trip the guys from 4Aviation did a great job of getting us in front of a lot of action - I think we saw over 450 different military aircraft in the air in two weeks - I think it would have been difficult to come away without getting some nice stuff! cheers
  13. Looking forward to see this progress! cheers
  14. Hi all, First day at Misawa - weather was good, and there was plenty going on, I hope you enjoy the pics and thanks for looking in, cheers
  15. Thanks everyone for the very kind comments - doing my best to please, but really helped here by the amount of flying the JSDF does everyday from what we saw, more to come soon when the seasonal madness subsides..
  16. hi - thanks - Misawa (2 days & museum) next! Yes. the 747s are for The Emperor, PM, and so on - I think they will continue in service until 2018 or so. Very nice to see them doing touch and gos.. hi Colin, thanks for your comment and i'm glad you likd 'em. I used the NIkon D2Xs and 500mm lens, processing in Lightroom 4.
  17. Hi, Second day at Chitose - weather was variable until the afternoon, so we had an hour or so at Okadama, I hope you enjoy the pics and thanks for looking in, cheers
  18. Meri Kits 1/43 Brabham BT58 in white metal with etch sheet and rubber tyres for me - the only decisions are whether to do it in Brundle or Modena colours and which GP to plump for - let the research begin.. cheers
  19. I have always been impressed by the WNW stuff, but never bought as I am not a 1/32 fan - but these releases have changed my mind -just awaiting the delivery of my new credit card with 18 months purchases at 0% and I will be taking the plunge on "The Duellists" I think!
  20. Some very nice shots there - thanks for compiling and sharing.
  21. Thanks Giorgio, I see the difference when it is put that way. The UK projects its assets, (at a cost), and Japan doesn't. cheers
  22. Compare £266 with what Hannants are looking for ... http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/WNW32801
