  1. Good luck with the airbrush cleaning - I find the more it's done the less it becomes a chore and just part of day-to-day modelling. p.s. we love a loco build.
  2. Here we are; The fuselage in front of the cockpit is being re-shaped, it was an odd hump shape before. Also two rear windows added as the navy bird it's going to be is an F6F-3. The tailplane is attached, and in a moment of madness I decided to detach the elevators, rudder, and ailerons. No idea why I did this, but it's done, though not finished. The wheel wells are being boxed in - not accurately, but it looks better than the gaping hole that was there before. Bits and pieces being refined - again not entirely accurate, just cosmetic improvements. Unfortunately the engine was hideous, so an Eduard Hellcat provided a substitute. The canopy now fits the fuselage, has had its first polish, and needs another one. More bits. The kit came with an Airwaves set for the Otaki kit - it's being used to add some detail in the pit, with some bits scratched - hopefully it'll be seen through the canopy if it polishes up ok.
  3. Here's one I started about 12 years ago. Donated by a buddy in Germany, it was started when I visited him back then, and has been dabbled with on and off, most recently during the lockdown imposed during 'Covid'. It's not the best 1/48 Hellcat in town, but no kit deserves to be left on the shelf, regardless of its faults. Photos and descriptions of where we are up to, to follow, πŸ˜„.
  4. Just a case of my mind wandering around aimlessly most of the time, πŸ™‚. A most pleasant state of existence.
  5. Good for me - I would still like to be involved. πŸ˜€
  6. That's half the fun of GBs - sneaking your builds into a GB where your favoured GB didn't make it across the finish line.
  7. Airfix annual 1973 has come up trumps - Airfix Lancaster into a Manchester by Alan W. Hall, great stuff. I've got an old Airfix Lanc in bits, so I don't even need to acquire the base kit.
  8. πŸ˜’ Won't let me in... I do have a few hard copies somewhere, and some of the old annuals as well though, πŸ˜„
  9. Put me down please - I must have an old Airfix magazine with a conversion article in it somewhere. now where is that balsa wood and dope?
  10. I didn't have to look too far - I've got an Airmodel 1/72 Blackburn Firebrand in a bag. I couldn't find any images of one built up on the internet - always a good sign that it might require some fettling.
  11. I think you have a cruel streak in you, especially showing a picture of the Bristol T.188 - mine's still on the S.O.D. However, it's a fantastic idea, so please count me in - just off to think about what might qualify, πŸ™ˆ
  12. Welcome - Zwolle is a lovely place to be alive. My brother lives in Enschede - also very nice.
  13. I was at RAF Museum Midlands (!) recently and the Auster wasn't there - one of the volunteers there said they thought it had gone to the Midland Air Museum in Coventry, though not sure if that is correct.
  14. Try a duplicate post in the 'Buy & Sell' section, 'Instructions & Painting Guides Wanted' - it will probably increase the chances of someone seeing the request. Hope this helps, and good luck! Edit; Also link here to see the instructions - might be useful; https://karopka.ru/community/user/17547/?MODEL=536585
  15. Just wondered if anyone had the Contrail Scapa in 1/72 - their kits had scale planes included?
  16. Yes please, put me down if you could old chap?
  17. That's great blitzbuild, nicely done.
  18. Great idea - kinda thinking I could have got something like this done in the time I have this weekend. Mmmmmm.
  19. Those Finnish decals look mighty inviting to me. Just saying, πŸ˜„.
  20. Hang on, no eggs? Next you'll be telling us there will be no pink primer used....
  21. That looks like a nice challenge - good luck with it.
  22. This will be my first Blitzbuild missed for some years - πŸ₯Ή - bad diary planning and postponed events have caught up with me. I'd even tracked down a Pegasus 1/72 Fulmar in response to @JOCKNEY 's challenge from last time out. It'll have to wait. I'll be popping in to lend support though - good luck with all your builds!
