  1. A bit of a late start today as the red wine was flowing freely yesterday. Priming worked fine, and then started with the hull and turret - detail and fit are lovely. A bite to eat I reckon and then we can get going again. Session time = 53 minutes Elapsed time = 55 minutes
  2. Proper modelling - looking forward to seeing some primer on this one.
  3. Looking good. Could be a little Steampunk with all those cogs & gears?
  4. Here we go! Out all day today, so a quick start to get the plastic primed with some rattlecan auto primer - also tried the tracks to see if it helps get some paint on later. Session time = 2 minutes Elapsed time = 2 minutes
  5. Having been exposed by @JOCKNEY for entering a Japanese subject into this weekend's Blitzbuild, guilt has got the better of me and I will be entering this little kit into the fray. A captured KNILM aeroplane was pressed into service by the Japanese during WWII. I'll post some pics once I get back to the stash - not sure what state the kit is in, but it can't take that long to knock up can it?
  6. Cracking kit - looking forward to seeing this one hit the mat.
  7. Don't forget @JOCKNEY and his whip - er, um, shouldn't have mentioned that....
  8. Thanks Dave - not since I built the Frog Spitfire and V1 has a kit vexed me so - it's coming along, and whilst it looks like a nice Harrier OOB, I couldn't bring myself not to fettle it a little bit . Adding some detail as we speak.
  9. Reporting for duty is one of Airfix's recent re-releases. Built this one from a blister pack back in the day - the plastic says 1974 so I imagine that's when it would have been as new releases from Airfix were snapped up asap back then. OOB for this one, can't do a fat lot on Saturday as we are out, and so I'll be plumping for the Great Escape option. Also a nod to the Turning Japanese GB, as ongoing builds in the Matchbox GB preclude me from entering . The plastic looks lovely, and the tracks look quite delicate.
  10. Never built one, but I've heard that the detail is nice, and you can't but like a Spitfire?
  11. Beautiful job - great as a stand-alone build, and even better as a vignette.
  12. Not much progress on this, the Harrier has been on the bench. The intakes are taking a little fettling - I think I should have taken more care when fitting them.
  13. Another round gets us to here. Looking a little sharper, and the area at the top of the intakes/rear of cockpit has a bit more shoulder to it - not sure if the issue was with the kit or overzealous sanding. In any case, not too much to do before details can be added back onto the airframe.
  14. I am thinking along the lines of the Airfix 1/76 Type 97 Medium Tank Chi Ha - also a nod to the 'Turning Japanese GB' which I was looking forward to, but won't get around to participating in.
  15. That's what got me started with my OOB build of the Gr.1 - the intakes. Good luck with the build.
  16. Joined up and I tried my best to get things lined up, but she wasn't having it. Now a filler queen, and I can foresee filling/sanding/priming cycles ahead.
