Here's the placeholder offering whilst I get on with the DC-5 in the Turning Japanese GB. It's a 2005 re-pop of the kit first released in 1968. It's a Tom Daniel design. Why this you might ask? Well as a child who was a loyal Airfix customer, these odd American designs always had my attention, however I was never able to save enough of my pocket money to close the deal. The November 1969 issue of Scale Models has an advert from Argyle Models in Glasgow where the Monogram 1/24 1955 Chevy is 32 shillings, and BMW Models had both the new Airfix Harrier and Cessna 0-2 at 2/9 - what was a boy to do? So for my first 1/24 'Funny' it's this fella. Moulding and decals look good, no doubt the chrome will have to be stripped, and I've got a box of 1/24 aftermarket somewhere that will hopefully let me detail the engine up. I can't wait to get stuck in.

Great stuff, the detail looks very realistic. -
Happened to me once - now it always gets a shake inside a ziplock, same with the old bottles of Alclad as well. The engine looks fab.

The carpet monster wins again! It looks great - good luck with the deadline extension. -
Minor progress - major parts separated, some rubbing down done, and that's about it. The wing to fuselage fit looks good, but the crystal ball is telling me there will be a few sand/fill/prime cycles for this one in the future, as well as hot air treatments to get rid of some of the warped areas. Regardless of that, it's a charming little kit that needs a bit of tlc. No more progress for a couple of weeks whilst life gets in the way.

Hi Pat, It's already on the shelf of doom, (with the Harrier) , I'm afraid. We are off to see family in Cyprus on Tuesday, and new windows getting fitted when we get back - so that's the extra two weeks gone. Both supposed to be OOB builds, and as usual that never happened. On a plus note, it increases the choice for the KUTA GB in November . Must say a big thanks to yourself and @Rabbit Leader for this amazing GB - a sterling effort indeed - can there ever be a mightier GB in the future?
-
That looks very smart.

Looking very good indeed.

Good decisions I reckon - have fun and complete them when the time is right. I think you can post in the gallery once the poll is complete? That way they are there for all to see amongst this monster GB. -

Popcorn opened for this one, watching with interest... -
Or complete the diorama as it looked a couple of hours later, and save a kit in the process.
-
And a few more details added, never realised there were so many bumps and vents on a Harrier. It looks a lot busier now, but still more to do.
-
Must have something in there - the metal legs haven't been out of the bag yet - hopefully they'll be up to the job. Indeed - resin is always fun, though some might disagree!
-
Canopy's on, and detail being added - slow progress, but we are getting there.

Here we are with some rattlecan primer on. We've got bendy bits, pin holes, and short shots. Nothing that can't be resolved, and the fuselage must have a lump of metal in it as it feels very heavy - hopefully it won't be a tail sitter. It'll be sitting for a while whilst I try and get my Matchbox GB builds finished.
