  1. Don't see many ships in a Blitzbuild - good luck with this one.
  2. Yup, I think so, but don't tell @Hockeyboy76 as he will be insisting on the use of pink primer... Might even go slightly metallic with it - we'll see.
  3. Think this will do - never got my hands on one when it was first released, so time to put that right.
  4. Same here - I used to lose bits all the time. I use old takeaway containers with lids or ziplocks now to stop it happening. Of course you'll find it once a new one is scratched up.
  5. Nice solution () to the decal problem - looking very good.
  6. Can't help with paints question, but that is looking like a real brute of an aeroplane. Lovely.
  7. Looking good - I'm guessing the primer will show up more sink holes as well....
  8. Great looking motor car, and your build does it justice.
  9. Heavy duty modelling going on there - good luck with it.
  10. A very useful tool - I have used mine quite a few times.
  11. Not used them before, but can see some uses for them. Looks like The Works do a cheapo version, so I'll be checking those out.
  12. That looks like it is itching to be painted - nice work.
  13. I reckon you've made one of these truck things before. All very convincing work - looks great.
  14. I use Palm Labs, Digbeth, Birmingham for my developing. They will also scan any film into the format of your choice. I think print film is more stable over time than slide, but I'm no expert by any means. https://www.palmlabs.co.uk Perhaps you could have one of the films developed, and they can let you know what the results are? Then you can make a decision on the remainder? Good luck, and let us know how it goes if you do get them developed?
  15. Great idea - no. 1 son is a meteorologist, so it's a family thing. Thinking a Choroszy Modelbud Viima (Gale) would fit the bill nicely.
  16. Just good practice for my Mach 2 Alouette I reckon!
  17. Prior to priming again, it was noticeable that the marbling in the resin was more pronounced. I don't know if this was a reaction during the paint removal process. Once the primer was on the state of the resin was clearer - far worse than when the kit was actually started, and it wasn't great then. Anyhow, chances of finishing by the deadline are slim, but the KUTA GB isn't that far away in any case. Interestingly, this was a kit up for consideration as a Blitzbuild candidate - dodged a bullet there I reckon.
  18. Yes please, about time I did some more armour. Put me down on the list please?
  19. Not sure how I missed this - definitely interested. Add me to the list please?
  20. Well, on revisiting the kit, it had 'sweated' even more under the primer - so stripping nearly everything off seemed a sensible way forward. I used Mr.Color levelling thinner. It has a strange affect on the resin - some of it disappeared, assumed dissolved. Anyhow, it'll dry off tonight, and I'll give it a coat of primer in the morning.
  21. Back with it tomorrow - I'll give the Tamiya paint a go, nothing to lose really.
  22. I think it's down to the operating conditions and the paint finish - they have the 'Have Glass' finish, (I think?). Perhaps someone can confirm?
