  1. Lovely selection - the Fennec is a pearler!
  2. Love the b/w stuff - very evocative. Where did you get your scans done? cheers
  3. My advice is that you can't beat an offer to try various brushes at the stage you are at - so Paul's offer is a good one - I use Iwata myself, but also have a Badger 150 on the bench that will not die and never, ever has let me down - I have used H&S as well and they are very good tools, in some ways easier to maintain than the Iwata stuff IMO, cheers
  4. Thanks for the kind comments - they are appreciated, Cliff - my brother was there doing some video stuff with his Nikon 1 - think the sound of 8 Merlins was probably drowned out by the oohs and aahs of the crowd and my shutter clicking away though! Elderly - the shots were all with shutter speed of 1/320th apart from the Hurricane which was 1/160th - as Tripehound said it had gotten very murky by the stage it went up and it got worse for stuff like the Comper Swift and Provost - so much so that I stopped shooting.. cheers
  5. hi All, A few evening shots from Old Warden, and no doubt about which display everyone came to see, hope you like them, and thanks for looking, cheers,
  6. hi Rodders, King Kit is about twenty minutes away by car, but you can't look around - only pick up previously ordered stuff - but they generally have a good selection showing on their website. There is a shop inside the museum which has a few bits and pieces, (Airfix & Revell kits), with some secondhand books and there always seem to be a few books reduced as well. Other than that I think your into places like Hobbycraft in Wolverhampton which really doesn't count, (does it?)..hopefully someone else can point out the best local model shop.. cheers
  7. That has put a big smile on my face - beautiful..
  8. hi, Some of my shots from a very pleasant day at the Hagley & District Light Car Club meeting yesterday - hope you like 'em, and thank for looking in.. cheers
  9. Nice shots from an unusual location - love the Canberra - looks like it could do with some tlc.. cheers
  10. NIce shots - what size lens/lenses would you recommend taking? Never been so must give this one a go - think I will wait till the schools get back to business though..

    Paintbooth!

hi - same story as Mike really - I built my own as well - no explosions in the man (& whippet) cave yet , but this is my own decision of course. Here is a pic - the kit is a 1/48 Canberra - it will take a 1/24th fighter comfortably. If you want more details LMK..total cost £3 for the acrylic door - the rest scrounged together.. cheers
  12. Thanks for comments - much appreciated. The three Harriers that were on show were a welcome surprise - didn't expect to see these beauties again on UK soil. There is a vid on youtube which captures the unfortunate events -
  13. Totally agree - he managed the energy magnificently to get back to the runway safely - just ran out of time to get the u/c locked up properly...
  14. Just a few from a hot & sunny RNAS Culdrose, cheers
  15. Thanks chaps, your kind comments are appreciated. Never noticed the T7 roundel issue - well spotted! The sheep field is no more unfortunately - sprogs being allowed to climb up the approach lights on 27, tents and BBQs in the field and so on have killed it off forever. It was a nice show, with a few grumblings about various participants not showing up, but Miss 'D' made it well worthwhile; a fantastic display and the low-level pass at the end was terrific.. Off to Culdrose tomorrow - hopefully the sun will come out for once, who knows? cheers
  16. hi Hutch, Great museum, and makes the Hendon one look a little shabby I think. Don't forget to Pay & Display though. Don't miss the lift up to the top of the Cold War museum, and I would go with Stuart for the prototypes. They also have some book bargains in the shop now again. cheers
  17. Here's a few from a hot and humid Yeovilton - nice and sunny for arrivals on Friday, but a little cloudy on the Saturday. Thanks for looking and hope you like 'em.. cheers
  18. hi all, Thank you for the very kind and generous comments - despite a few bits and pieces not turning up through no fault of the organisers the two days flying were great. Hopefully the no-shows will come next year. The flying displays seemed more dynamic on the Saturday - perhaps the heavier winds on Sunday had something to do with this? hi Longhorn, All the flying stuff apart from Sally B were shot with a Nikon D2Xs & 500mm (Saturday), and the statics and B17 were with the D2Xs and a 200-400mm (Sunday). cheers & thanks for looking..
  19. I'm a sucker for the Draken - this one's a real beauty..
  20. Hi, Here are my favourites from a slightly depleted line up at IWM Duxford, caused by some rainy days prior to the show. Thanks for looking and hope you like 'em..
  21. Nice collection - hope the sun comes out for you tomorrow..
  22. hi Eamonn, I can't help you with the details as I am not local, however you are more than welcome to get a lift back to Swindon in the evening if you need it, (on Thursday). I am not sure what time FRIAT members finish, (18:00?) - we normally head away about 19:00 as there are generally some late arrivals. cheers Scott
  23. hi, Agree with Panzer Vor!!! about the wall - grab a spot whilst you have a chance. Last time I was there I used a 200-400mm zoom which worked ok. cheers
