  1. Here we go - time for some tea. Started the figures, but don't expect to finish them. Everything else tootling along quite nicely. Session time = 1 hour 23 minutes, Total time = 19 hours 37 minutes
  2. Another session done - starting to get bits and pieces onto the body shell, all tyres touch the floor, and some small touch ups done. Session time = 2 hours 42 minutes, Total time = 18 hours 14 minutes
  3. 0r anything from the rather excellent album 'Reign in Blood'.
  4. Good luck - hopefully see it in the gallery later!
  5. Cheese sarnie and a surprise appearance of a bit of fried mushroom on sourdough, mmm. Anyhows, masking continued, and all spraying now done apart from any touch ups - everything in the dehydrator to speed up the drying. A quick cuppa, and then onto decal cutting and bits - can't see the figures getting done, but I'll make a start. Session time = 35 minutes, Total time = 15 hours 32 minutes
  6. Start the day with masking - not a favourite, but necessary. Got some black on the frames so colour can come in later. Time for a cheese sarnie I reckon. Session time = 1 hour 46 minutes, Total time = 14 hours 57 minutes
  7. Speedy Gonzalez! Nice work, and good luck in the morning.
  8. Run out of puff - that's it for the day. Scoffed a chickpea, chard, and mushroom curry for supper - lovely. The build moves on - starting to put bits together, and it's gone together quite well. I'll leave the body polish until tomorrow - the paint should be that much harder. Mostly detailing tomorrow - the trickiest part will be masking up the clear parts for spraying. Hopefully the Future will have dried sufficiently. Session time = 1 hour 19 minutes, Total time = 13 hours 11 minutes
  9. Small session to get the rest of the clear parts ready for painting. The small indicator parts were very fiddly. Gave some of the silver parts a wash to tone them down. Body looks ok, quick polish later perhaps, and a thin coat to finish. Session time = 1 hour 7 minutes, Total time = 11 hours 52 minutes
  10. Afternoon, and out come the clear parts. Not the best bit of the kit, and so a bit of polishing is in order. The rear panel has been left soaking in Future to hopefully improve the appearance. Off for a cup of char now. Session time = 1 hour 17 minutes, Total time = 10 hours 45 minutes
  11. In my defence, it was because of a correction to an un-square cut performed by someone else - no way could it be left like that. The thin edge burnt easily! Defence completed, m'Lud.
  12. Frank Cooper's Oxford on toast for brekkie - food of the Gods! Everything looked ok this morning - the body needed a quick polish to smooth down a few defects though. Compressor then packed up, but I've got a little spare one that was cheap on eBay - phew. Some of the parts, (tyres/seats), were given a coat of Nato Black + Black to create a satin finish, some parts had a silver coating, and the body had another coat, though this time using the retarder thinner to let the finish smooth down, hopefully. Into the dehydrator we go! Session time = 1 hour 20 minutes, Total time = 9 hours 28 minutes
  13. Gotta love a propelling pencil. Breakfast looks good as well.
  14. Supper was lentil shepherd's pie with carrot and broccoli. Quick pic to start the session showing the lovely engine detail - not bad for a 1971 mould. Had to put a late one in, to get some black on the sub-assemblies, and the body had another thin coat. Went up to a 0.5mm needle, and both the black and orange sprayed a little better, with no spatter. Not bothering with the dehydrator to see how it looks in the morning without it. Session time = 2 hour 10 minutes, Total time = 8 hours 8 minutes
  15. Snap! I went to Uni, and when I got back I found my stash (only small then), started models, finished models, and most of my tools/paints had been given to a lad down the road.
  16. Another mini-session - getting towards a spraying session, to get some black on the chassis, engine, and tyres. I like this kit a lot. Here are the figures as well - nicely moulded, and I think I'll make the effort to do them. My children got me a Redgrass wet palette for Father's Day, so it would be a chance to test it out. Session time = 1 hour 20 minutes, Total time = 5 hours 58 minutes
