  1. I'll have a look and check them out, thanks.
  2. I think they have gone too far with the weathering, doesn't look realistic at all! Would make an interesting diorama though.
  3. That cockpit and engine is as good as I've seen on here, great stuff.
  4. It has turned out really nice. The tiddler looks good too.
  5. That is quite a task you have set yourself, I look forward to seeing more of your RAAF collection.
  6. That is a very impressive collection, how many models in total?
  7. I'm of the same mind, I have several Heller Bf109A/D's waiting to be made and I think they are still on a par with the more modern Avis examples of the early Bf109s.
  8. What a great little piece of aviation history. I think the '50s were probably the most exciting period in aviation history due to all the rapid advances. Is this kit a one off or are you going to continue with the theme?
  9. What a lovely little model, Heller did produce some real gems.
  10. I bought one of these off Ali last weekend for a friend. i had a sneaky peek in the box before I posted it and it looked really good, I might have to get one for myself.
  11. Last time I saw Mike it was looking a bit shabby, in need of a good wadpoling!
  12. Very nice, I'm a big fan of mottled aircraft.
  13. I must admit to worrying about Black Mike too! I've got the room, do you think they would deliver? Nice build of a favourite of mine.
  14. Eduard Express mask Tree camouflage Scheme XS506 for your saw tooth masks. RLM02 for inside of wheel wells, however there was a canvas cover that zipped around the wheel bay to stop dirt and debris getting inside the wing structure so to be really accurate you can paint that too, although I never bother.
  15. I like the history too, very interesting.
  16. The silver colour looks just right for the NMF, what paint did you use?
  17. The French operated mostly NF11's, the first 9 of them were ex RAF WM296 to WM304, 2 NF13's both exRAF and 2 NF14's again both ex RAF. As far as I'm aware they were visually the same as the RAF NF11's, that said check references as the NF11's did have some subtle differences from batch to batch.
  18. I got the Mr Color from a Polish website, they have all the Gunze products, the site has an English version and they deliver to the UK. Search for Gunze.pl
  19. I've had another go this morning and I've tried your tip. That appears to have sorted it so thanks for that. I am really pleased that I have managed to get the Iwata working with Mr Color paints. I will have to get some practice in before attempting mottling though. Thanks for all your help with this post and my previous one in the paint section, I think the Iwata would have gone out the window without the help I have had on Britmodeller.
  20. Hi Chris Yes it's the Mr Color. The thinning appears to have been the problem. I really thought I'd thinned them enough compared to other paints I've used in the past but that wasn't the case. When I saw how thin Arkady72 thins his I knew I had to thin even more. This morning I've had a second go at the "Arkady" mix and it did go on like silk. The only thing I'll have to work on is trying to avoid paint runs as I tend to make 1/72 stuff and like my WW2 Luftwaffe subjects. Thanks for your help.
  21. I've finally had a chance to try the "Arkady mix" and the paint sprayed well enough. The only problem I had was with paint runs if I let it get too wet, I'll have to practice with the pressure settings before I try mottling but at least I can spray Gunze without having to stop every 2 minutes to clean the tip now. Thanks to everyone who offered tips and advice.
  22. I finally got a chance to try out the Iwata with a paint mix similar to the viscosity I saw Arkady72 use, very much thinner than I had tried previously. The paint sprayed well but I will have to try a few different settings before I will feel confident enough to try mottling in 1/72 scale. The only problem now is that when I first depress the trigger I get a splat of paint so I have paint accumulating on the tip somehow.
  23. I like this a lot. i've got 2 of these in the stash and seeing this one makes me want to get started.
