  1. Do you know that you can buy a 250ml bottle of Replenishing Agent for Mr Color that would restore your gloop to fully usable Mr Color paint? Might be a bit of overkill at £8.60 to fix one paint pot but if you have a stash of Mr Color paints I can recommend buying a bottle as the Mr Color do have a habit of gassing off and the bottle will restore even the most gloopy pots. Only adding Thinner doesn't work so well. I always have a bottle on hand to use on my own personal Mr Color paint stash but I also check every pot of new paint I sell to make sure they don't need a top up. The green colours seem to be the most prone to going a bit gloopy if they have sat for a while. Duncan B
  2. I followed this one on Facebook but the photos here really show it off very nicely. A great looking build and something for me to aim for when I get around to building my one. Duncan B
  3. My understanding is that the centreline tank would be jettisoned before firing the front Sparrows otherwise they could strike and puncture the tank on release. The Sparrows were pushed down, out of the airframe and free flying before the motor ignited. Duncan B
  4. I used to use a spreadsheet but once I discovered Scalemates.com I found that was much easier to use and keep updated. Duncan B
  5. That looks great, you could have told me it was 1/48 and I would have believed you. These new 1/72 Fulcrums from GWH do look very nice in the box so I'm pleased to see one made up. Duncan B
  6. That should do the trick, who doesn't like the look of a Hunter? I hope your Hunter helps your Dad to settle in to his new home. Duncan B
  7. I think the answer to that one lies in the Senate in Washington. Currently they are arguing over giving Ukraine more aid at all! At the same time the U.S. is trying to keep China from having any influence in South America so would rather see the F-16s go to Argentina. If the U.S. didn't have a say in where Belgium, Norway, Denmark and the Netherlands sell their F-16s to then the destination might well be east rather than south west but the U.S. does have the final say. April Fools

There's a page I follow on Facebook that is a satire of a Scottish travel information type page. It's usually full of daft stuff such as photos of exotic locations titled as places in Scotland and factious travel tips. Today it was full of photos of Edinburgh castle and other famous Scottish landmarks titled as such, a bit of a twist on the April Fools theme. Duncan B
  9. The Ju-87, Fw190A and Bf109 plastic is outstanding. The clear parts in particular are the best I have ever seen. I think the instructions are the biggest let down but anyone with any experience and access to a forum like this will not struggle to get the colour callouts. Duncan B
  10. For Argentina, with its huge airspace, to have no current proper air defence aircraft must be a real worry for the military and Government. I hope they can get this deal over the line as the other options are a geopolitical nightmare for the West who would much rather have Argentina on side. Duncan B
  11. Very nicely done. Those who said the Lightning is ugly, go stand in the naughty corner until you learn your lesson Duncan B
  12. Not sure what you been by "regulated" but the DHL system is so bad that the drivers all have to manually sort their routes and can change during the route. DPD system also allows the drivers to move their route around before they confirm it, once set that's it though (officially, but there are ways). I've worked for both so have experience of their systems. I'm pretty sure that most Delivery Companies use similar systems so routes can be altered either before setting off or during, after all the road network is an ever changing beast so road closures etc can appear at any time and their systems need to be flexible enough to work around the unexpected. 13. Well it turned out really nicely in the end. I don't think the lack of panel lines detracts from the final product, in fact if you hadn't pointed it out I wouldn't have noticed. It's too easy to over emphasise recessed panel lines on a light colour scheme and spoil the over all effect so I think you have dodged a bullet there. Duncan B
  14. What the driver told you is total toot. He can deliver out of turn, and if he had experience (or could be bothered) he would already have spotted that he had 2 orders next door to each other and would have sorted the parcels so he could deliver both at the same stop. The App does sort the route but it's not always (i.e. is never) in the most efficient order. If there are 3 stops on a street you can almost guarantee that it'll try to get you stop at the first then do the third then turn and do the middle one before turning again and if it's a new build estate that hasn't been properly mapped yet it can become a rear big issue! This is where the experience comes in and where a decent driver will sort his next set of stops out to avoid this, it helps if he/she knows the route and area too. In the winter it wasn't uncommon for me to completely reverse my routes so that the rural stuff was done first in daylight. The one thing that is affected by the driver reordering the route is the predicted delivery times that the tracking shows the customer will not be accurate if the route is changed but that's the only impact. Your driver was either a newbie or simply couldn't be bothered to check and sort his route before he loaded. Duncan B
  15. I couldn't resist this book after seeing some snippets on Facebook. I've always wanted to tackle an all grey F-14 but been to scared to until now. There are some great ideas in this that are transferable to any build so even if I never tackle the Tomcat it'll still have been worth it. Duncan B
  16. Well it looks really nice to me despite your issues with it. Duncan B
  17. That's where the cross over between modellers and guitarist is then. Here's some of mine. Now that I'm retired I'm looking forward to getting back to playing them more regularly. "Alex" and "Stan" "Rory" "Birthday Boy" There are a couple of others that I need to get some photos of including the first decent guitar, an all black 1978 Strat, I bought with my tax rebate when I completed my RAF Apprenticeship many moons ago. 18. What a beautiful looking machine that is in the yellow wings colour scheme. Great work wrestling the kit into shape. Duncan B
  19. Great start, I like the look of those 3d printed parts. The drooping tailplane part saves a lot of work. I am hoping that the law of kit bashing means that your work here will prompt the imminent announcement by Airfix of a down sizing of their fabulous 1/48 Javelin to 1/72 lol. Duncan B
  20. Very nicely done. I really must get mine started. Duncan B
  21. That's different and really shows off the kit well. Duncan B
  22. Fantastic result considering where you were starting from. I'm struggling along with a Sword T.5 at the moment so have an idea of what you have been through. Duncan B
  23. Very fine looking Arado, well done Stew. Duncan B
  24. I do like Wildcats and this is a beautiful example of the early scheme. Very nicely done. Duncan B
