I've just had a email with a voucher for another 20% off kits. Some use when the nearest one closed yesterday!
-
Same here. Bought nothing but a few last Tamiya paints. Mind you when they advertise a 'special' reduction to £10ish on a kit that was £6.99 a few weeks ago in the sale I find it hard to open the wallet.

Cack, I was planning on going to Leeds tomorrow which is due to close on the same date! Anyone know if Leeds is closing today too?
-
I thought it closed on the 13th? Tomorrow?

Don't trash it, it can be rebuilt! Look on it as a challenge. And I'll gladly pay postage to take it from you if you decide to chuck it. I'll stick money on Airfix being able to help though. I've left Power Spray on for days without it damaging plastic. Doubt it was that. Aren't there two types of Halfords Primer?

Revell 1:600 USS Starship Enterprise NCC-1701

Looking good. Looks like all the work was worth it! I picked this kit up fairly cheaply a while ago and have decided that when I make it I'm going to ignore the grid lines being inaccurate and leave them, purely because I like the way they look. Think that might save me a few months work at my glacial rate.- 30 replies

Or they might have used it to buy cheap lager from Lidl, drank it all in one night and beat their wives and children. What a bunch of pointless supposition and guess work. Anyone been to the Leeds one recently who can let me know if they have much stock left?
-
Does anyone know the situation in the Leeds store? That's my nearest and it's at least an hour away so any info greatly received. Thanks.

Looking lovely. Just noticed your Christmas lights comment. Wasn't the original TV model lit with Christmas lights too? -
Bookmarked for when I do my next boat. Thanks for this. Much appreciated.

No probs. Post a WIP in when you get round to it? It's a kit I want to get and light up.

Here you go. http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234941166-iron-man-lighting/?hl=%2Blighting+%2Biron+%2Bman And here http://secretsmodelling.webs.com/moebiusironmanmkvi.htm There are a few on Youtube too. I can link those if it'd help? Which Iron Man is it?

HMS Illustrious, 1/350. OOB.........my first ship
khimbar replied to jenko's topic in Ready for Inspection - Maritime
I've made one ship...the Airfix Belfast...so I feel your pain. In a perverse way I loved it though. This is really cool though. Really nice work. Makes me want to get one and do another ship. Dumb question if I may? All the coloured bits on the landing deck....the red/yellow and white lines? Are they decals or are you just obscenely good at masking off?! -
Ebay shops from HK are way cheap for LEDS! You can get them for peanuts, more like 1p each than 10p. At least last time I got some they were. I'll be watching this with interest though, I love lighting kits. Great start.
-
Bleeding heck that's lovely. I have this in my tiny stash. If I get results anywhere near as good as this I'll be well chuffed.
-
How simple is this stuff to use? I fancy a try of it.

Just...just...just wow. Awesome in the purest sense of the word. -
Is there much room inside for lighting it? Any chance someone could have a peek?

G, you're gorgeous, Airfix 1/48 B.57G

I was going to say 'Great result for brush work' but that's not right or fair and is faintly patronising. A great result either way, in fact your brush work is miles better than my pitiful attempt at airbrushing. Superb job, love it. And by reading the build thread you're not far from me in Halifax too!
