  1. I suspect that the Revell one is really old, likely to be 50's/60's moulding. The HB one would be preferable. At least you'll get some attempt at a cockpit and there'll be some detail to the moulds. I'm sure someone has presented a complete one on Britmodeller.
  2. There's also an in-box review and sprue shots here http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/tru..._tru_1654.shtml I'm not a Lightning expert so I'll leave the critique to someone else.
  3. The 1/72nd Hasegawa/Revell Su27 nose can be mostly fixed using a Quickboost resin addon. Also has the added benefit of weighting down the nose, no tail sitter then. According to Ken the tail is a little "off", I think he said it was too wide/too narrow, sorry can't remember which though .
  4. Many thanks for the comments. I must admit to being quite pleased with how the "squiggle" turned out as it was pretty much freehand.
  5. White Ensign also stock Voyager so they may be worth a punt! http://www.whiteensignmodels.com/
  6. Can't help but agree with the others, a really well done model. You should be proud.
  7. Thanks for the feedback guys. The washed out look is partly due to the flash on the camera, note to self must get better at taking photos.
  8. Thanks for the feedback, the base was really just a means to an end, i.e. something to put the models on but I do know what you mean about the figues, never my favourite modelling experience. If I can I'll try and get a few more pics. There is an Italian propoganda poster on the wall of the building as I realised the unit was one based in Italy. I'm not so sure about the M-20 however as it's more than likely from Nothern Europe somewhere. The Tippex was only useful for this type/style of zimmerit as you can paint it on and when dry when you score the pattern in bits chip off and so looks worn.
  9. This is a 1/35th scale diorama (well it's more a couple of models on a base really The Panther A (Early) is the Dragon kit released before their upgrading to Smart/Premium versions. I added zimmerit from Tippex, the pattern being scribed in with a knife blade after it had dried and added an Eduard etched set. The M-20 armoured car is the Italeri version which hasn't had any aftermarket added. The base is a Verlinden resin and plaster affair which I picked up cheap at the Southern Expo show a few years ago.
  10. Something from a few years ago. It's the Italeri Mig-29 with a Pavla resin cockpit and markings for an Indian aircraft by HiDecal. I also added an etched set of intake blanks which I picked up from Aeroclub but can't remember who made them. I believe the planes were flown as adversary aicraft hence the colourful tails.
  11. Thanks for the comments The other thing to watch out for is the canopy. It will only fit in the closed position. Now I think about it I must have replaced the front and sliding section with vacform ones from a Falcon set.
  12. If you mean this one http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=RV4377 Then it's ex-Hasegawa. Hope this helps.
  13. This is the Italeri 1/72nd scale kit. Yes I know it's not the most accurate etc but I had a few sitting in the pile and so I put this nightfighter scheme on it and used up some decals from the stash. Scheme is hand sprayed but I pencilled in the lines before starting.
  14. SeanRGB mentioned that I hadn't posted anything when he came along to the IPMS Hornchurch model club yesterday. So I thought I'd better make a start. Here's the Academy 1/72nd P-40E. I've added an Eduard Zoom etched set for the cockpit and used an Aeromaster decal set to replace the Academy ones as I've never had good results with this manufacturers decals.
  15. It looks like the kit may be re-released over in the States at least http://www.internetmodeler.com/2008/januar...l_sptisfire.php http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/rm/kit_rm_1738.shtml
  16. Someone else is posting their build on the AeroScale forum
  17. Sprue Brothers seems to be one of very few places. I've not ordered from them but I think they get good reviews on ARC & Hyperscale (excuse my language!) http://spruebrothersmodels.com/
  18. My mistake sorry, could have sworn I'd heard it was the Trumpter one. There's a review of the Italeri one here http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/revi...leri/it6449.htm
  19. It's the Trumpter kit reboxed, Airfix also have their Challenger II and Italeri's DUKW. There's a comparison review at this website http://www.vodnik.net/ In the Features section.
  20. I don't know whether Jonathan realised this was still going? http://web.ukonline.co.uk/jonathan.mock/iac/layout.html
  21. You could try these http://www.hiroboy.com/catalog/product_inf...products_id=171 They don't fit a standard Swann Morten scalpel handle but most fit in an X-Acto style handle. They are a little thicker than normal photo etch and quite robust. Just a happy customer, no connection with the trader.
