  1. I picked one up for £1 at Southern Expo, Mel was selling a whole load off. I know someone picked up at least 20 at that price. Might be worth trying to track S&M down to check what sort of deals he'll do or which show he is next at.
  2. I think the polished metal colours, like aluminium and especially chrome, require a gloss black undercoat/primer to make them shiny. Most of the standard or "regular" metal colours just require an undercoat/primer because the paint is lacquer based, although as stated if you are very careful and only mist the Alclad on you can mostly get away without applying anything. Having said that different coloured undercoat/primers will give different resulting finishes using the same top colour.
  3. The MiniArt bases may be of interest http://miniart-models.com/ I've started 36002 Russian Street w/Advertising Column" and 36003 "Street w/Park Wall" and are about the right size for most things up to Panzer IV size but probably a bit small for anything larger.
  4. The Revell kit is the Eduard military version only, I bought one recently in the Modelzone sale.
  5. Retrokit http://www.retrokitonline.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_7 No connection to trader other than they normally attend Southern Expo (which I organise)
  6. and another Finucane Spitfire the "BF" marked one can be made from the Southern Expo 2012 "Northern France Forays" sheet. Still available. http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/southernexpo/Decals2012.htm
  7. I thought the point Yuri was trying to make in terms of comparisons is the following:- Eduard Mig-21 MF is closer (or more accurate) a represntation of a real Mig-21 MF than the Trumpeter Mig-21F-13 is to a real Mig-21F-13. Or to use the analogy Jenshb used The Tamiya Spitfire IX is closer (or more accurate) a representation of a real Spitfire IX than the Trumpeter Spitfire Vb is to a real Spitfire Vb. Not that the Tamiya Spitfire IX is closer to a real Spitfire Vb, that would be just silly
  8. For the less DIY able https://www.eileense...uemart&Itemid=9 [Note - I have no affiliation with the company - some one I know bought one at Telford and has been pleased with the results so far]
  9. One thing to note on this one, which might help tying the spinner and type of Spitfire down, is that it has the Shamrock marking for Wing Commander Brendan Finucane. This might (!) be a photo of AB972 coded UD-W
  10. Nice model Great to see the decals being put to good use.
  11. or only £7.50 a set. PM me directly if you are interested. All profits go to charity. More info here http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/southernexpo/Decals2012.htm
  12. Good to see the decals being used Still have stock if anyone else is interested @ £7.50 a sheet.
  13. Good start made on the kit. If you are after some newer more accurate decals I know where you can purchase some http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/southernexpo/De...0_32ndScale.htm Only £7.50 a sheet and proceeds go to a good cause
  14. Don't get paranoid John, we all hate you I would have replied but can't recall seeing the post 1st time round. See you Monday
  15. ALM have booked too so no problem there. If you come along for the Friday night setup we can offer free tea, coffee or a roll but no donuts
  16. Yep the Airliner SIG have booked too. Which club? I could confirm whether we've received their booking.
  17. Mish has requested space for BM @ Southern EXPO 2012 so there will be tables for you. How many can't be decided yet.
  18. The one I bought was the old mould.
  19. The Tamiya kit will be the Italeri one. I always liked the Esci ones, they had a reasonable interior and details. Though I'm not enough of a Phantom expert to comment on how accurate they are.
  20. Apologies for the mix up, I must admit we rushed through the production of this sheet a little more than we would have liked as we were struggling to get the references tied up to our satisfaction. Note to self - "must try harder". Never the less, the model has come out really well. If any one is interested we still have stock available in 1/72 and 1/48 scales @ £7.50 a sheet. Please PM for more info.
  21. That's come out really well , nice to see the decal sheets in action.
  22. It's one of the early Dragon kits, so it looks good on the sprues but the fit is nothing like as good. In the end it turns out OK but it can fight back
  23. I have used the Obsureco set in the link above and can confirm it all fits into the kit very well. There are also other sets from Pavla, which I haven't tried, they are advertised as for the Strikemaster which is possibly why a search didn't find them. http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/PAVC72097
  24. Baggers

    Tamiya Pz 35T

I assume you mean this one http://www.tamiyausa.com/product/item.php?product-id=25112 Tank parts are CMK.
  25. Looks a little like Hannants Xtracolour Flat too which is a horrible brown colour ( ) in the bottle but does not apparently affect the underlying colour, or so I've been reliably informed.
