  1. Here is a Me 262A-1a/U4 W.Nr. 111899 flown by Major Willi Herget for JV 44, April 1945 Riem, Bavaria Its the old Dragon kit which still looks the job. Thos who have buil it know that the upper wing to fuselage fit is not 100% but by fitting the lower wing first I was able to move the gaps to the leading edge and just fill them wth filler. Other than that this was a blast to build and and is a serious gun up front. I did replace the kit plastic Master in Reality turned metal gun+ muzzel which is absolutely amazing but also entirely impractical as it turns out luckly for the men of the B26's 344th and 323rd BG who she went up against. Diorama is made using the 2 ground crew figures inlcuded in the kit and 2 Preiser pilots. Simple scene nothng to difficult. I dug out my copy of "The battle of Bavaria" Forsyth and Scutts for this and had a good re-read. As I have a stack of these old Dragon kits I will make one or two more of JV44 . Regards Brian
  2. Women are of course the exception to these rules as they can be lekker, leuk and mooi all at once unless of course they are oerlelijk ....
  3. Yea the gear bays are a wee but bare alright. It would be interesting to see a build off between the old Dragon and the new ICM kits.
  4. Nice result on this. The Berlin nose looks well on these 88's. Did you scribe the fuel cap details just aft of the cockpit or is it a decal ? I have built two of these babies already and only issues are 1. the wing tips are a poor fit, 2. the lack of a bulkhead with the cannon breach for the C6 nose, 3. the spurious glass opening on the spine just in front of the rudder where the dingy, wtf? 4. aforemntioned lack of engraved detail just aft of cockpit Dragon needs more love boys ! Mooi werk Volker
  5. Gents Many thanks for all the kind comments I am glad you liked it. kind regards Brian
  6. Ben I have followed this thread from a distance and have just scanned through the 7 pages but forgive me if I repeat a question, but have you thought of the option of selling just the stl.files ? That way u bypass issue with your printer and people can scale up or down depending on their scale preferences. I would be interested. regards Brian Kirwan
  7. Hi Romain I had a look at your in-progress shots, and they look way a Ta152 should look; absolutely gorgeous. This is top notch work sir.I tip my hat to you. BTW I read Willy Reschke biography a couple of years back and this plane saved his life; if he had been flying the Fw190A8/ A9 he wouldn’t have made it to April ’45. Anyhow it is nice to see these older Dragon kits getting some of the love they deserve . For a very long time there in the early days of the Internet Dragon was king of the kits. I am in the process of finishing up the Dragon Me262 and apart form the lack of leading edge slats it’s a great kit. Looking forward to seeing more of your work, Regards Brian
  8. With regard to the bombs I had a dig around and the only thing I came up with is 250kg but those look too big to fit the bill. Maybe the H2 ? I would link a reference into the old IPMS ZA site but I couldn't find it. There were extenisve articles about the F1Az. Anyhow I made up an ordance layout map based on info I git off it there
  9. Wow that is a great result. Its one beautiful but mean looking killing machine.
  10. Thank you for your kind comments. As regards the weapons I was in two minds to even include the tanks.🤔 This is such a beautiful aircraft why would you go and make it all ugly by hanging dangly bits off it?
  11. Wow James great model again and lots of background information. I am going to have a good read of this. Hope you are feeling better and I presume you recieved my email during the week? regards Brian
  12. Just a few pics of this lovely kit. It is Eduard's Mirage III CZ SAAF 1982 in 1:48. I used the Profipack version and finished it in the kit decals for nr. 800 2 Eskader/ 2 Squadron of the SAAF Waterkloof 1982. The kit has 4 vices; 1. Poor fit of the wing undersides to the fuselage in particular the ventral gun bays and the overall fit of upper wing to fuselage is ......ambitious lets say. 2. The plane sits too high; chop the nose wheel down by 2-3 mm 3. Fit of the cockpit Instrument panel hood is bad. 4. Loctaion of main undercarriage support arms is esoteric Plane is a tail sitter (not a vice as its stated in the instructions) so don't forget to add weight to the nose. Other than that its a lovely kit and I picked up a few more as Overtrees to use up the Profi Pack decal sheet. If you buy enough overtree kits it justifies the postage. At least that is what I tell my wife. Regards Brian
  13. African Invaders Congo Invader 1;72 Scale Biafra Invader 1:72 scale For more details see Ready FOr Inspection over in a/c section Good luck to all the builders in this build. If I finish up another a/c in the next week than I might join you all. regard s Brian
  14. Yes I agree its great to see the Blue Rider products get some attention. They had a great magazine as well. In the days before Interwebs they were worth their weight in gold.
  15. ah...........whiskey and resin the thinking mans choice.
  16. Thats coming along nicely Werner. I did this conversion and finished it last year and it was a trouble free build. You will have to decide on which period the AZ dates from as there are parts included which only became avialable late or at the end of the Border War. Using the MaV decals ?
  17. There is a photo of Austin with these marking so you are alright. Nice result on what is a lovely kit . I built one some time ago as a 17th Bat. stationed in Ireland. There are some colourful 17th Bat cars out there.
  18. Dick Nice result on the Hawk. Nice to see some exotic markings. As I have a Airfix Hawk on the go which will either be Zimbabwe or Kenya can I ask which bang seat should be in this one, a MB mk7 ? Thanks Brian
  19. David That is a really sweet Dauphin. You did a great job in it. I dont suppose you have any photos of the underside ? I would be interested in your experience with the Kittyhawk kit. cheers Brian
