  2. I agree with everything everyone has said! Certainly brought back happy memories for me when I was making my first Airfix model kit of a Commonwealth Boomerang back in 1963!! All the best Fozzy
  3. Absolutly Fantastic Diorama.Brilliant overall effect! Fozzy

  7. Well in another week or so if I'm lucky!...Whats next? Well it should be the bloody Nieuport!!.but thats not going to happen! About 2 years ago I started a 1:24 Spitfire(see my Website) so I'm going to attempt to finish that next........if you can stand another marathon thread!!!! Cheers Campbell Foz....what about the B.F?
  8. .....So its on with the small detail now. I'll get back to posting when I get nearly to Canopy stage..... Cheers Fozzy
  9. Hi Guys I managed to make another set of Tail numbers for the Lysander and Micro set them in place. They are not fantastic but they are in scale and I think I can get away with them I also de masked the whole thing and took some photos and took stock of the build! The photos are of the Fuselage only at the moment and you will see that I have got a lot of small detail work to be done.....E.G Place a message hook underneath the Fuselage, paint tail wheel, exhaust ring and Exhaust, place main wheels on and paint etc etc .Once all that has been done then I will concentrate on the Canopy fixture and then the wings.............and hopefully (you will be pleased to know) that that will be the end of the Build.!! Heres the photos...................
  10. I know what you mean about the Brisfit!....I have got a 1:32 Academy Nieuport 17 half built in one of my cupboards...I hate the bloody thing and no amount of kicking will get me to finish it. I think that other than the lack of time some kits that you build just make you" go off the boil" as you put it.....like my Nieuport!.My advice ,what its worth ,is put the kit away and build another one......go back to it later! Cheers Campbell Foz
  11. Thanks a lot Mish. Do you ever get those days when you just seem not to be able to model?...One of those days is today!..........I sealed the Lizzie with Johnsons Klear and hand painted the Tail number onto blank Decor Paper. When it was dry I placed the number into place (see the Photo) but for me its just ....so so.When I placed the number on the Starboard side however it just fell apart..........you know how it does that?!! ....Well I wouldn't have minded so much but I have only a tiny amount of blank decor paper left to make a new one,and living in Bulgaria I am not going to be able to go to the local model store to get a new sheet!!!...............Well I have painted a new number and I am waiting for it to dry....if that dosn't go on............ ..........sorry banging on a bit....and as you said Mish....."Its only a model" !! Will post again when I have beaten this problem!!!.........here's the latest photo Cheers Fozzy
  12. Hi Campbell Yes I guess I am......I'm always a bit unsure when Scratch Building incase it all goes horribly wrong.....which would be embarassing considering that this build is on this thread so to speak!...I mean I can't blame it on the Kit can I? But yes so far so good. Whats happening to the Brisfit? Fozzy
  13. .........and here's a photo of the wings..... I have to say that it was a bit of a pain in the a## masking and de- masking to spray the Roundels! but I am happy with the end result. As I said I am now going to figure out a way to iether paint or make decals for the tail number..........just incase the experts amongst you thought I had forgotten them!! and then seal the lot!! Will post again when that is complete Cheers guys Fozzy
  14. Hi there Well good news!My masking technics must be improving because there wasn't much touching up to do....if you know what I mean! I havn't taken off the masking in the Cockpit yet because today I am going to seal all the paint work with Johnsons Klear. Here's what the old Girl looks like so far..............
  15. Hi guys Another day has gone and another coat of paint!!....... So thats the Dark Green sprayed, you can just see the masking tape covering the pre shaded markings, hopefully the paint dosn't seep under the masking tape!!......I guess I'll find out tomorrow! Till then Fozzy
  16. Thanks for your kind words Nick.........That must have been difficult (Lysander)at 1:72 scale, its hard enough at 1:30 scale!!!.......Why do we do these builds?!!Like the probs you were having with your "Little Focker"!!...I guess its to prove that we can! Cheers Fozzy
  17. Managed to fix the old Lada this morning and managed to spray the first of the two upper suface coats this afternoon.......all in all a good day!! Will post again when the next coat is on!!! Cheers Foz
  18. Before spraying the first upper surface colour(Dark Earth) I have placed all the Roundels and lettering masks onto the Lysander ............. .........and then masked off the tail for the tail Flash............ So after fixing the old car in the morning(22 year old Russian Lada..........I love it! ) if time allows I will Spray the first coat1 Till then Bye
  19. Well thats what I thought.Thats why I didn't do the Special Duties variant. However I have made life more difficult for myself........... it would have been easier to spray all goss black...and quicker!!
  20. What I had to do next is cut at the right scale the Roundel shape and lettering from masking tape in preparation to place over the pre shaded areas.......I hope you understand what I'm going on about!!.......here is the masking tape cut and placed for the time being on this piece of plastic. ............bad pic but you can just see them!!
  21. Hi Gang As I said on my last post that I was in the middle of the spraying stage. Here is where I am at the moment....... After masking up I sprayed the undersides Sky.I used Humbrol Enamel paints and I mixed Duck Egg Blue (23) with a touch of Matt Light Grey(147) to get to the shade of 'sky' that I wanted!............When all was dry it was down to masking up again(something I hate doing!)ready to spray on the appropiate colours for the markings.......Below is a photo of the Lizzie with this paint applied(white for the prep of the roundels, and camouflage grey for the lettering) the next photo shows the Blue paint applied to the wings in readyness for the roundels....................
