  3. So...you think us Bulgarians cannot make modelski?....well ...we can....and also the Vodka ...Da? Regards Tovaritch ...............Cheers to Blimp and Mish.....Fozzy
  4. Da ,as sum Bulgaski ,e tu?...........Dam.....can't seem to get my key board to do the Cyrillic alphabet!! ........No,born and bred in Good old England...moved here to live in 2007 when Bulgaria joined the E.U.....why did I do that?.... because back in 2007 I could buy a house and land for a price of a car!!...So I did and I also retired at the age of 50 so that I could make models all day!!...........its true But I do miss Blighty! Cheers Fozzy
  5. A shot of the Port side front................. ....and the Starboard side front................ So that completes the wings attatchment. All I have to do now to wrap this thread up is............... Fix up the Propeller assembly Attatch the antenna Put the Machine gun in place in the rear The next post will be the last one when I have completed the above!...hooray I hear you say! untill then Cheers Fozzy
  6. ...heres a sort of head on shot!.............. ...and a rather odd rear Starboard shot.............. In this shot you can see the wing roots attatched to the wing frame........... Heres an overall shot of the Lizzie
  7. ......In this picture you can see the struts in place from a underside shot................
  8. Hello everyone The old Lizzie had to be neglected for the a day or so as my Wood for Winter arrived on a big Russian clapped out truck (must scratch build one day...they look fantastic!).....the truck ofcourse dumped most of its oil on my drive as it pulled away....normal for Bulgaria! and then ofcourse I employed a bunch of Gypsy's to chain saw 5 cubic meters of logs whilst I stacked them away for winter....bbbrrgghhhh...it gets down to -25c here. ........any way I am sure your not interested in this but thats my excuse for not modelling!! However I did burn the midnight oil to fix me wings on!!!!! I didn't have as much trouble as I thought I would have had. As pointed out earlier in this build the wings were going to be attatched via pins protruding from the wing support frame and glued into small holes drilled in the wing roots.Well after a dry run on the fit before glueing it looked like the Starboard wing was forward of the Port wing......this is because I drilled the holes in the wing root in the wrong place....silly me! ....so I had to drill out a new set of holes and re check and every thing was good ...so I glued the buggers on!! When the glue had set I then glued the wing struts into place. In this first picture you can see I had to make a strut boot (havn't a clue whats its called!!) out of Milliput............
  9. Hi Campbell I think they both look great. ..........I especially like the finished paint job on the Tripe and the finish on the prop on the Brisfit. You also did a good job on the rigging as I know you were worried about tackling it.......but you did it and it looks great! I hope your Fokker turns out as good as theses two!..............I shall be watching as usual mate All the breast Fozzy
  10. Looking forward to seeing it in RFI.........I told you that rigging second time round would be easier! ...and the esier it is the more fun it is. Good on you mate Foz
  11. Your getting better by the day mate........Looking great Campbell...I agree with Blimp ...the Fokker will be a piece of urine after this Cheers Foz
  12. I have to say that the whole trip moved me to the point of tears.Rows upon rows of graves stones of the 8700 or so young Australians.Tragic waste of life but I have to say that I was shocked if not freaked out at the sight of the Memorial of the 21,500 british soldiers ,10,000 French and thousands of other Commonwealth soldiers who lost their lives in that tragic campaign that are rarely visited and rarely remembered. God Bless them all Foz
  13. Just to put your mind at rest Campbell ......I am not one for tons of weathering ...just a subtle touch!! Cheers Foz
  14. Hi All A thanks first to Campbell, Timbo,Mish,Woody and Blimp for your Comments on this build As I said in my last post that I was going to Gollipoli and for those who are interested I have posted on this site photos here......My Gallipoli Trip This afternoon I placed the last of the Canopy pieces onto the Lysander............thank god thats finished!!!....Heres the pics...... Now comes the part that I have a tad worried about..........the fixing of the wings. Now they are iether going to fix on with no probs at all or they are going to be the biggest S.O.B going!!! .....Time will tell. I will post to let you know how its going later!!! Cheers Fozzy
  15. Hi there Campbell...nice to see you back on board with the BRISFIT...looking good so far!......However the Fokker's Lozenge cammo looks a handfull!!Good luck! Cheers Foz
  16. ...............and here is the last one.... So I am now going to fit the last of the Canopy in place and then do a bit of weathering(very small amount) before fixing the wings on. Tomorrow morning the missus and I are lucky enough to go to the WW1 battle site of Gallipoli in Turkey.I have always been interested in the history of WW1 and of course of the Dardanelles Campaign. The Turkish border is aprox 1 hour from my house and then Gallipoli is a further 4 hours ..so looking forward to that! I will post again in a few days time Cheers lads Fozzy
  17. So now it came to the part of placing the Canopy frame onto the Fuselage.I wasn't looking forward to this stage as I dont find it easy fixing kit Canopys on let alone Scratch built ones........but I have done it before and I had to do it again. It is a very slow process because you have to trim as you go and do a bit of filling if your unlucky and in the back of your mind you wonder if you have vac formed the correct size etc Any way I managed to place on the front and middle section so far.I still have to put on the top, rear and side sliding pilot windows. Here are a few photos of the Canopy so far.........don't laugh and be gentle with me as I am not very good at Canopy's ..remember I made the canopy out of food packaging my Wife was throwing in the bin.......maybe I should have let her!!
  18. ....here it is all painted and in position............. The next task was to place the painted wheels into the boots!!!!........if you don't remember these were made by making the hubs out of Balsa with plastic card on the face and the tyres were made from wire insulation......here's a pic
  19. Hi Its time to add another 1000 pages to this thread! Last time I posted I said that I had to do a bit of detailing on the Fuselage before the Canopy stage....... Well heres my attempt at making a Message Hook for the Lysander out of these materials...... That is copper wire and garden twine! As you can see I shaped the hook and super glued it onto the end of the garden twine which will act as the swing rod for the Fuselage. The other piece of wire is supposed to be the control cable that went into the rear of the Cockpit for the Navigator to operate!
  20. I just love reading your comments Campbell.....keep the good work up mate! Cheers Foz
  21. Hi Dave....your too kind! I think I am going to try to finish a 1:24 Spitfire I have been building for the last 2 years! I promise you that will be worth double the ammount of pages as I am turning it into a Cutaway.....Sacrilege I hear you Spitfire Buffs say Cheers Fozzy
  22. ......but if I can just keep it going to the end! Cheers Mish Foz
