  1. It's just getting better and better ..Are you still operating with the one hand cos it sure doesnt look like it.
  2. Hi Arnold Good to see your on the home lap . Looking excellent Alistair
  3. AS Micks experience . i came across all these same problems .Must have done over 25 dry runs but finally the wings are on with the flaps intact. Could not do it without a small gap (nothing a bit of filler cant sort out ) Now tackling those pisky gun covers . Useing a different method on this one as i didnt want to cut out the bit on the wing so have snded down the gun cover so the rear end will sit over the wing as it does in real life . Now for another 25 dry fits (for each cover ) I think once these are in place i will relax a bit and sloely eat my hat !!!
  4. Your little diorahma adds so much with its work force getting the aircraft ready for its next sortie and the leather jacket looks well lived in . Congratulations. Alistair
  5. You have made a very intresting subject and thanks for shareing.
  6. Tim go with Rlm 02 for the wheel wells as it will make them stand out against the nat metal .
  7. Eduard should market the FW 190 A in an "emotional rollercoaster " range with Ltd edition Valium dispenser
  8. I have been following this build from the start and as you can see it can be built into a solid goodlooking model with a little bit of work http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.p...topic=234912073 I have put it on my to do list . Alistair
  9. Hi Steve Im not a perfectionist which helps as there is no way that the flaps look as good as say Tanks do and i have saved £7.00 .Each flap takes around 2 hours so not very cost effective
  10. Hi Mick The detail of the engine plug is great . I recon we are about the same possition in our builds . Im finding the wing fit a bit more of a problem than i thought it would be . have you seen the review double build on aroscale. http://www.aeroscale.co.uk/modules.php?op=...&artid=3081 Alistair
  11. The finished wing . Overall i'm very pleased with how it came out . Now hope it still fits. The Eduard p/e would probably been just as easy but this gives higher score on the satisfactionometer
  12. Thats very kind of you daran yes i'm building Red 4 and the <58 was a issue i had to address .i will pm my details Alistair
  13. Started the build of the upper flap bit with plastic card . am not going to put the hole in each rib bit as it will be far back in the wing not to be seen ,also to fiddly for me to do. I think this will give a fair represntation of what it woul have looked like.
  14. Would love to have a close look at this in reality ,it just looks the business ACE SAU
  15. I here tooth fairy inflation is running at 50 % better start saveing now
  16. Set the flaps to a just open position and no one will ever see. The semi hard line of your green / brown i recon looks just right at this scale . i am moveing towards a more harder line between the upper colours .
  17. Wind screen washer system extrordinare , what concentrate dilution are you going to fill the bottle with ?!!! This is the first complete screen wash system i'v ever seen and i cant think what you have planed for your next area of micro detail. Alistair
  18. Just had a reminder of the 1/32nd model on Vintage Eagle website . your mottling looks to be spot on in density and shade. This at the exciting stage ...Lets see the yellow/ white bands soon. Alistair
  19. Still undisided on this . lucky i can put off decsision until later . Do agree the seam looks the part and i have googled " fw 190 d11 supercharger intake " and nothing conclusive to be found. The pics of D11's in japo vol 1 do show small raised seam .just found this . so yes small fine raised seam it is .........at the moment !!!!!!
  20. Steve its a case of getting the hair dryer from the wife and kids for 5 minutes .i- I need to book it out 2 weeks in advance . Dont use hair dryer myself more like a polishing cloth I shall build my boxing of the a8 as an a6 so the warped wing will not be used .
  21. Nick ,is the weld line you have added to the air inlet typical of a D11 or could it be reproduced by scribing ? Alistair
  22. Have made some progress over the past weekend . The fuselarge is all finished without ny major problems . There is no way that if you glue part W1 against the location strip in the fuselarge halfs that you will get the comleted sub-assembly to fit ,leave it float free and no problem atall. There will be no filler on the work so far. The Gun cowl needed a light sand to ensure a snug fit. I painted the quickboost pipes before attaching ,also the area around the pipes to make masking easier later . Had it all nice and tight when i noticed that i had forgot the tail wheel ,lucky it was easy to split the joint behind the tail wheel hole and slip part X 29 into place. Now the bit i'v been looking forward to ,the wings . Flaps cut out With the fuselarge closed it has enabled me to see how the flaps can be made. At this time a dry fit reveles a warped upper wing part which will make addition of internal structure very difficult . The plastic dips down severly. After trying various methods of corecting the warp i figure that it will be easier to use the upper wing section from a 109 a8 which is identicle in desighn from another kit and use the warped wing on an aircraft which wont have the flaps droped and thus wont be a problem. Photo shows old wing compared to wing from Fw 190A8 Final pic of engine from beneath.
  23. Now i feel its safe to say that when i first started following this build i thought A. He wont beable to get this to work . B. if he does manage to squeez everything in it will look like the FW190 version of Mr creasote. The answer to both A. you have managed to build the Eduard Version of a Faberge Egg B. It looks smashing This could herald a new age of models on stands. Alistair
