  1. I don't know if it's true, but at the hannant's site there is at the future releases a 1/48 Dornier Do 215B-5 standing. It also hase already a number. I have also seen this at the model airplane International site. I Hope it is true. Does somebody know more? http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/RV4671 Cheers Arnold
  2. Hi Guys, I need some help. I want to convert the 1/32 Revell Arado Ar 196 A3 into a A1 version. I know that this one had only one machinegun at the back and the propellor was different (the second one in the kit). Are there more differences between the two versions? One of the main issues that I stumbeled on is that of how the panellines were on the wings, when they didn't use the guns. Hase anybody some drawings for this? I hope that somebody can help me. Cheers Arnold P.S. Does the front MG look suspicious? In my view it looks like a MG 131 and not as a MG 17.
  3. Thanxs Martin. For the answer what I was looking for. Arnold
  4. If I am not wrong then there are two air intakes on the sprues. See the inbox review below for more details. If you are looking at the 6th foto on the right hand side than you can see them both on the sprue. The flat one is for the trop version (If I am not misstaken). http://www.aeroscale.co.uk/modules.php?op=...ent&id=5686 cheers Arnold
  5. Is there another drawing for the engine nacelles for the Dornier Do 215? I have been struggeling to get the dimensions wright from the kagero book (after blowing them up on a copy machine). After looking some pictures and the drawings of the book I have come to the conclusion that they are wrong. They are to wide and the propellorhubs looks like if they are from a late Bf 110 (G model) where in the pictures they look like if they are from an early 110 (C/D/E model) with the hole in the middle pluged. Can please someone help me?! cheers Arnold
  6. I bought mine saturday when I was for a holiday weekend in Kent. I started it this morning. What a lovely kit. I wish I hade bought a few more. Thanxs Airfix for this great kit Arnold
  7. Hi, here are some build of the internet. http://modelingmadness.com/reviews/allies/us/spahrp61.htm http://hsfeatures.com/p61apk_1.htm cheers Arnold
  8. I am glad that MIS is back as a total magazine. I wasn't pleased when the magazine was split up in 2009. I hade the magazine because there were articles in them from both worlds. Now when I am going on holliday in the UK I wil be buying it again. The first one was bought at Telford and I was very pleased with it. Keep up the good work cheers Arnold
  9. Larry, If You are making a Mistel version you don't have to do the wheel wells. They were closed on the ground. This was done for us modellers to make it more easy. Then you are just left with the other items, witch aren't that difficult to correct. Cheers Arnold
  10. Bill, From my dwelling memory, the elevators were to far back on the revell kit. and kev was wright about the wheel bays. I know that there was a cockpitset for the hasegawa kit from grand phoenix, but for that kind of cash you could buy also the Trumpeter kit. Arnold
  11. Bill, I know that there are some issues with this kit. I have seen a article in the Scale Aviation modeller International (SAMI) for the Me 262 (vol 12 nr 5) and they used the engines from a trumpeter kit and that the tail wassen't correct. I have also vagely in my memory that the nose contour isn't corect. It's to flat. I hope this wil help you. cheers Arnold
  12. Dazza, I know there is a conversionset from Airdoc (ADR48009)to convert the F-4J into a F-4C/D. take a look at the link. http://www.airdoc.eu/index.php?option=com_...4&Itemid=73 Cheers Arnold
  13. Hi Chris, I have build the stuka to, but I have build the hasegawa Ju 87 D1/D5. This is also a good kit out of the box. If you do something extra then it can be made into a great model. It hase also been released by Revell for a nicer price. I don't know if it's still available. Also the Ju 88 from Revell is a great kit, maybee a bit to large but realy a nice kit. Arnold
  14. I have also seen that there are (oil?!)coolers under the wings. Arnold
  15. I alsoo didn't see a differency in the tail? I have been looking in my copy of kagero's Do 17/215 to find any difference but it's according to the drawings the same as a Do 17Z. The only difference are the engines/nacells. I am gona give it a try to scratchbuild them. Arnold
  16. Well Bill I have already done the Dornier Do 17 P from Hobbycraft. It was some work but it was worth it. Now I am looking to get the Do17-Z from hobbycraft into a 215. I am not building it yet, but my hands are itching to get started.I have got some extra stuf fore it (wheels and etch set). Popeye thanxs for the info. I still have 2 engines from a 217 conversion I once did, but they aren't correct. Maybee I should build a engine from scratch and then copy it in resin. the power eggs look the same. I have seen in some books that the air intakes for the engines are in the wings on the right side of it. I am very interested in the build up of the ICM kit. Maybee I should buy one for my self to see how it's done. cheers Arnold
  17. Julian, Thanxs for the info. I was looking at a book of the Dornier 17/215 and there it struck me to convert a hobbycraft Do 17 into a Do 215. Then there was the issue af the engines. It wouldn't bee so difficult to convert these with some engines from a Bf 110, but I was hopping that maybee there was a conversion set for it. The difference between the 110 engines and that of the 215 is that at the 215 there are radiators attached underneath the engines and that the nacells are longer, they stick out at the back of the wing. Arnold
  18. Sorry, I forgot to mention that it hase to be in 1/48 scale. Arnold
  19. Hi Guys, Does enybody know if there is a conversion set for the classic airframes or Hobbycraft Dornier Do-17Z too converd this to a Dornier Do 215? I want to do one, but I am a bit lazzy so if enybody knows something, please let me know. cheers Arnold
  20. Hi Jim, This was how I build mine in a what if scheme. http://www.whatifmodelers.com/index.php/topic,29373.0.html Cheers Arnold
  21. Hi Brian, This Is realy fun! I am also very currius about al the outcome of this. Do you know if he hase some more pictures as wel? This could also be very interesting . When I am going to build my model (that wil be soon), I wil get some pictures of it and when it is finnished I will send them to you. Maybee I will even do a in progress on this site. For the Model I will use the Trumpeter 1/32 version (with al the correcxtion sets from Aires). It will be the plan to build it and be ready around the IPMS England show (at Telford) next year. Maybee in a sort of Diorama with everything open (engine, gun bays, etc) Chears Arnold
  22. Thanx Brian for al the info. This is very interesting. I wish I was there as well. Maybee the Dr didn't know him because he was in the other Flight?! I can remember from the Squadron Operation Book that Dr R. was flying in the morning and in midday that Thorne was flying or vice versa. Thorne was called Jimmy (If I remember it wel.) He was a American (state New York) who loved Pigeons. I wil try to scan a picture of him and send it to you tomorrow. Wel I have some question you may ask for me: In what flight was he A or B (after reading the mail I would say B flight)? And In witch flight was FB110 (K) belonging? Was FB1110 a loaner from A flight? Or did they use that same plane if there was a shortage in the other Flight. What was the time that he flew " T " frequently (If he can remember)If it was in the time around D-Day (june /July ) than the possabilaty is that it was FB180. Dr.R. flew the FB180 at that time very frequently. The FB180 was writen of after a crashlanding from Thorne also on the 26th of July ?! this was after he shot down two Fw-190's and a third whome was damaged. Maybee a bold question, but if you are trying to copy the Log book from the Dr. could it be possible that you could scan it? Or make a extra copy for me? I would be very interested. Arnold
  23. Greg, I am building one as well, but this one is great! Arnold
