  1. Blimey! Thats one of the best I've ever seen......absolutely superb. I only wish I could turn out work like that.
  2. Thank you very much! Its one of my favorite builds, glad you liked it.
  3. Thanks for the kind words lads, much appreciated.
  4. Very impressive! I have yet to build one of these, yours certainly provides inspiration.
  5. Superb! I am impressed with the way you lengthened the fuselage, and your finish is excellent. Certainly captures the shape of a Mk.IX, very well done.
  6. Very nice! Definately one of Airfix's better models.
  7. Nice work! I've just started the Airfix Hellcat myself, although next time I'll use the Hase kit. Love the cockpit, very good indeed.
  8. :D If I keep using his tricks I'll soon be skint!
  9. Thanks John! Yes, I nicked your idea-hope you don't mind. I'm just letting the gloss cure then I'll add a little weathering here and there before putting the dull coat on. I just hope the winsows look OK when I take all those masks off!
  10. Hello chaps, This is the 1/72 Airfix Navy Lynx which I'm building more or less OOB. Inspired by Skii's amazing build of the same kit I wanted to have a crack at it myself. Needless to say, John's version is far better than mine, but I'm having fun as I never thought I would get this far. Here's some pics for you all to look/laugh at.
  11. Excellent cockpit! You done a very nice job on it.
  12. I've got this kit in my stash.........I will be taking notes. Superb detailing work John, I know already this one is going to be a corker.
  13. Nice work Mike! The cockpit looks excellent as is. I would keep it like that. BTW, if you're inept-what the heck does that make me?
  14. Doc, thats a lot of work you have on your hands! I will watch with great interest. Len, thats a cracking build! Superb work.
  15. Thanks Sean. If you get one be prepared to use a lot of filler/sandpaper. The fit is awful.
  16. Very nice. I like your choice of paint scheme.
  17. Wow! You are doing a cracking job here Mike. I have to admit I would not have the bottle to tackle a vac-form project myself. Your 'pit work is superb.
  18. Very impressive work so far. Looking forward to seeing more of this one.
  19. Great looking build! I have one of those in my stash-if looks half as good as that I'll be well pleased.
  20. Very nice work John. It looks superb.
  21. It is better than the Airfix kit. You've had a lucky escape.......er, sort of.
  22. Hiya Greg. was'nt you that gave me the decals for that one? I think it was. Anyhoo, you can see they went to good use. The bloke I built it for was well pleased. You are right about the kit, it was a real PIA. Glad I don't have to build that one again.
  23. Hi Mike, I have yet to build a 109, even though I have 3 1/48 Hase kits in my stash! I have been told the best kits in 1/48 are the Hasegawa/Tamiya kits. As for what would have gone up against a Mk.22, I would guess it would have been "G" or "K" variants. Hope this helps,
  24. Thanks Jake-much appreciated. Gary- sounds like a good build! I am putting a resin pit in mine as well all the usual refinements. It will be a lot of work, so I'm waiting till I'm less busy before I start that one.
  25. Really? Maybe its worth looking into. For now, I'm going to stick to the Hasegawa and Tamiya kit in my stash.
