Superb! I am impressed with the way you lengthened the fuselage, and your finish is excellent. Certainly captures the shape of a Mk.IX, very well done.
Thanks John!
Yes, I nicked your idea-hope you don't mind. I'm just letting the gloss cure then I'll add a little weathering here and there before putting the dull coat on. I just hope the winsows look OK when I take all those masks off!
Hello chaps,
This is the 1/72 Airfix Navy Lynx which I'm building more or less OOB. Inspired by Skii's amazing build of the same kit I wanted to have a crack at it myself. Needless to say, John's version is far better than mine, but I'm having fun as I never thought I would get this far.
Here's some pics for you all to look/laugh at.
Wow! You are doing a cracking job here Mike. I have to admit I would not have the bottle to tackle a vac-form project myself.
Your 'pit work is superb.
Hiya Greg.
was'nt you that gave me the decals for that one? I think it was. Anyhoo, you can see they went to good use. The bloke I built it for was well pleased.
You are right about the kit, it was a real PIA. Glad I don't have to build that one again.
Hi Mike,
I have yet to build a 109, even though I have 3 1/48 Hase kits in my stash! I have been told the best kits in 1/48 are the Hasegawa/Tamiya kits.
As for what would have gone up against a Mk.22, I would guess it would have been "G" or "K" variants.
Hope this helps,
Thanks Jake-much appreciated.
Gary- sounds like a good build! I am putting a resin pit in mine as well all the usual refinements. It will be a lot of work, so I'm waiting till I'm less busy before I start that one.
